2 out of 5 stars Broke in 2 months....   March 13, 2010
Mike (Austin Texas)
Bought this at the end of Dec to transfer home videos. After about 2 months, the VCR side broke and wouldn't play any tapes (i.e. continued to eject the tape). It worked great prior to going down and was very easy to use. I called Toshiba and they gave me all of the info (and shipping labels) to send it back to get repaired. So that was a real plus and really easy. It's been 3 weeks now and nothing yet. So hoping it will only be another week or two before I get it back. We'll see....

1 out of 5 stars Piece of junk   March 9, 2010
Julie K. Aldrich (Walla Walla, WA USA)
I bought this product in January and by February the VCR didn't work. When I wrote to Toshiba to find out what I could do they told me I could pay to send it to their factory and they would fix it and send it back. I suggested they send me a new player and then I would send them the piece of junk and I was told that isn't what they do, even though I had the player for only a month. With that kind of customer service, I won't buy another Toshiba of any kind.

4 out of 5 stars VHS + DVD dubbing   March 8, 2010

Works fine. Tape rewind is a bit slow. DVD finalling and formatting is a bit slow.

4 out of 5 stars Enjoying Toshiba's Combo DVR620 DVD/VHS Recorder   February 28, 2010
P. S. Tave (Fort Worth, TX)
I am enjoying having the combination and not having 2 to 3 boxes. It is nice and sleek and the movies show well on screen. I had my doubts but, it was easy to connect to my screen tv and I did make sure
that I ordered hdmi cables to ensure a successful connection. If you are thinking about a combo then
this is a good choice.

4 out of 5 stars Toshiba DVR 620 - a good, solid machine   February 26, 2010
avid golfer (Southeast Pa)
I purchased this DVD/VHS Recorder in late Jan 2010 primarily to transfer VHS-C tapes to DVD. To date, I have transferred more than 40 VHS tapes to DVD with very little difficulty. The unit was easy to set-up with my TV and the process of dubbing tapes to DVD was reasonably straight forward. The instruction manual could be easier to read, but I had little difficulty with all of the necessary steps. I am very pleased with its performance so far. One caveat of mine is to be careful when inserting the VHS tapes as there is a tendency for the tape to "hang-up" while being inserted. I have not yet tried to record to DVD directly from my set-top box and TV.
