The PDV-0700 portable DVD player from Polaroid Electronics lets you enjoy your movies, music, and digital photos when you're on the road or relaxing in the comfort of your own home. Its autosensing power adapter (AC 100 to 240V, 50/60 Hz) makes it perfect for international use, too--a great companion for business or pleasure. The book-thin, MP3-friendly player features a broad, 7-inch LCD configured in a widescreen (16:9) aspect ratio whose dimensions closely approximate those of your favorite contemporary movies. A supplied rechargeable lithium-ion battery keeps your discs spinning for three to four hours between charges, and the player also comes with separate AC and DC power adapters for use indoors, in cars and boats--you name it. The PDV-0700 also offers built-in stereo speakers for headphones-free listening, picture zoom, and compatibility with DVD-Video, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded discs--not to mention digital photos stored as JPEG images on recordable CD (you can rotate and zoom on these, as well). Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround-sound signals can be routed through the player's digital-audio output (through a .125-inch minijack-to-RCA coaxial cable, not supplied) for direct connection to a full-featured audio/video receiver. Use the supplied AV interconnects to hook the player up with your television and/or stereo system. The supplied wireless, credit-card-sized remote control is just as useful within your home or without. I've never purchased one of these new - but I did acquire two of them in different estate lot auctions. The first one was in it's very nice carrying case, but inoperable. Oh well.
The next one does nothing but show the blue Polaroid screen.
I find it odd that I've acquired TWO of these exact same units, and neither one functioned at all.
I looked it up - found the reviews here and it is exactly the same as our experience with this waste of a product.
Don't buy one new or especially used. Just don't do it.

Not just one, but two of Polaroids portable DVD players were purchased less than a year ago. Both quit spinning the DVD in the 13th month within a few days of each other. What do you do with a working LCD screen and no player? Nothing. It's crap. Don't buy Polaroid!!!

This my second one. My daughter broke the first one by pushing the screen to far back. I did a good bit of research and believe this one is the best for the money and I have all the extra supplies from the first one.

Junk - total junk. Worked for well about three months and in that time we used it about 5 times. It now plays mint, store bought DVDs successfully about 1 time in 10.....the build quality is cheap, plasticky and as for mechanical reliability, that is non-existent. Save your money and buy a book instead.

I purchased this portable DVD player for our RV. We went on 2 trips and played a total of 10 movies when it no longer would work. The screen turned completely white. The DVD player was 94 days old after we returned from our 2nd trip. 4 days out of warranty - Polaroid said it was not fixable and the best they would offer is a replacement unit - for $50.00! It's only an $80 DVD player, why would I pay $50.00 when the 1st one only lasted 10 DVD's. Very unhappy with Polaroid, will never buy another one of their products!!!!!!!!!
