Product Description When Gemini released the CDJ15 back in 2000, they broke new ground by offering a top-loading CD player with pitch control for DJ's at an entry-level price. Now that landmark unit has gotten a whole new look with a stylish new black finish! The CDJ15X has a vastly improved transport, and a newly redesigned LCD screen that is much easier to see in most lighting conditions. And at a price like this, it's easy to see why this is the best entry-level DJ CD player out there! Parry P. Gripp's review scared me to death so I did some checking with the manufacturer as Gemini usually makes good products. As noted in my comments to that review, Gemini told me that: "All of these units will read computer burned AUDIO CD's, but they will not Read MP3 CD's... If you are using I-Tunes, make sure the CD burner preferences are set to make AUDIO CD not MP3 DATA CD." The price was right so I took the chance and bought two units (for x-fading sound). We bought them for use in K-12 theatre productions and thus far have used them three times. We're using them primarily with a Yamaha sound board, but have used them with something else as well and have had no problems whatsoever. These units are compact, solidly constructed, well laid out, the display is clear/easy to read, they're easy to operate, and have very smooth controls, but the very best feature of all is that there's zero lag time for sound, whether starting cold, from a pause, or moving from one track right into another. Awesome!!! Finally, we've used nothing but CDs burned on iTunes and everything has worked just fine. We're very satisfied with our purchase.

This CD player was cheap. Thats the good part. It worked great for a little while, but then slowly self-destructed. I think the Tiny Tim boxed set was the last straw. It never would play CDs I burned on my mac. And the LCD stopped working after a while. I would buy this CD player again if it was so cheap I could get a new one every three months.
