Product Description Are you running out of HDMI connections on your HD TV? Are you tired of spending hours searching for the remote? Is your living room overtaken by remotes? No problem - IOGEAR's 2-Port Automatic Switch is your solution.IOGEAR offers the first automatic HDMI switch to the market. IOGEAR's High-Definition Automatic Switch (HDAS) technology will automatically switch to the active device, eliminating the hassle of using a remote. It's very simple - just turn on the device that you want viewed on your TV. If you want to switch over to another device, simply power on the other device - LEDs on the front panel will display the selected source device. Other switches require you to use a separate remote for the switch to select the device PLUS the remote to power on the device. IOGEAR's HDMI switch is HDCP Compliant and supports 1080p resolution. It is an ideal solution for those wanting to connect multiple High-Definition digital content media devices.

So far, so good December 26, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We got an HD DVD player, but our Sony TV only had a single DVI input. That presented a problem as we also use a DirecTV HD tuner with HDMI output. The switch works great in conjunction with our Harmony remote; if you want to watch TV, it powers up the DirecTV box and the switch picks up the signal for the TV. If you want to watch DVD, it shuts of DirecTV and turns on the DVD player, and the switch picks up the signal for the TV. No hassles. It does what is says it will. I'm dropping one star because it is a bit expensive for what it does.
WORKS GREAT December 22, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a Sony Grand Wega KDF-42WE655 TV,Toshiba A3 HDDVD player, and DirecTV HDDVR satillite box all controlled by a Harmony 880 remote. This switch works instantly and flawlessly.
Works great - never generated any errors or hang ups October 8, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've owned this switch for a while now and use it to switch between my TV HD box and DVD Player. I used to have Dish as my HD Set top and now have Time Warner. I have used several DVD Players as well and all worked great with this switch.
I wanted an auto switch since it would make it easy for my wife to operate the system - power up the DVD player and the TV switches to DVD. Power it down and TV is back on (It takes 3-5 seconds to switch back and forth, but that's not the switch's problem, rather the handshake that needs to occur between the TV and the HDMI source).
I have tried a no-name switch that did not require power (very nice since this switch does need to be plugged in), but that one was not as reliable - it would not pass the sound through to my Philips HDTV, though worked well with my friend's LG. IOgear was fully working with both.
No Complaints. I wish it did not require power, but that's not a big deal. Oh yes, forgot to mention, the switch comes with an HDMI cable - nice touch.
It Works June 26, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Exactly as advertised. With a TV (Panasonic LCD) with only one HDMI input, I have the Direct TV and DVD (Panasonic with HDMI) running throuhg the switch. Therefore, you do not have to hit the video selector button on the TV. I have it set up so it defaults to Direct TV unless there is a disc placed in the DVD, then it plays the DVD, which is useful because I live with people who are 'remote control challenged', except of course for my [....] boy. I only gave it 4 stars because I can't live with giving anything 5 stars.

I've connected this device between my DLA-RS1U projector, a samsung BD-P1200 and HD Directivo. It flawlessly passes 1080p/24 with no problems (one of the two main reasons I purchased this switch). However, it does not switch automatically between the active sources. I have to use the manual switch to go between inputs. I've confirmed that device 1 is off when device 2 is on, and when I switch device 2 off and device 1 on, nothing!
To make matters worse, I called Iogear's advertised "24/7" technical support. After spending 5 minutes trying to locate the switch on his screen, I was informed that technical support for the switch was only available Monday-Friday. I pointed out that their website didn't say 24/7 for every device but mine, but of course that didn't help.
Hopefully they will get it working or they can have it back.
