5 out of 5 stars Love It   December 3, 2008
J. Porter
I was looking to upgrade over my point and shoot camera but did not want anything very big. At some point I may move into a "better" dSLR but for the time being I was looking for something that was not very expensive or big. Something simple with a basic lens just to see if I enjoyed having a dSLR. And having used this camera for a couple of months it was a good choice. I am now able to get photos without the delay in pressing the button which has worked well so far for me. Was able to get nice shots of my family over Thanksgiving without having to rely on people posing for the shots, more candid shots due to the speed.

There may be some limitations but overall for the price/less pro dSLR I found it a good choice.

1 out of 5 stars not a great buy   December 3, 2008

bought this camera when it came out big mistake.. it was not a big improvement over the d40 same settings... i have problems with noise in pictures. if you are just starting out I would recommend other cheaper cameras would do the same if not even better.

This camera takes exceptional pictures. Very sharp. The Auto Focus is a
life saver. It is light and very easy to handle. It has editing which really comes in handy for the amateur photographer. This camera is perfect for portraits & weddings.I love it!!I tried four other cameras, (the Canon, the Rebel,) and this one is by far the best in picture quality. If you looking for a Amatuer's Camera.....
THIS ONE IS IT!!!

I won't go into what makes this camera a good buy as every other reviewer has said it all, I will just say I highly recommend this camera, especially for beginners who want professional looking photos.
