Product Description The Samsung SyncMaster 226BW monitor features a lightning-fast response time that makes it a particularly attractive choice for gamers who seek true-to-life images and a vivid gaming experience. The monitor features other excellent specifications that provide premium performance, value and style to home and commercial users. With 16: 10 wide aspect ratios, the 226BW offers precision and enhanced productivity for a range of professional and entertainment applications. It is further equipped with dual inputs (DVI-D & Analog), and is HDCP capable.
Amazon.com Product Description The Samsung 226BW 22-Inch Digital/Analog Widescreen LCD Monitor offers razor-sharp, widescreen image clarity and a host of innovative features. The image quality of the 22-inch widescreen offers wide viewing angles with bright colors for a very favorable viewing experience. With a wider viewing angle (160-degree vertical and horizontal viewing angle) Samsung makes sure you can see objects on your screen even when you're leaning over to grab a snack. With 16.7 million colors bombarding your rods and cones, you'll be impressed with the clearer, brighter imagery that this wide spectrum monitor has to offer. Another impressive feature of the 206BW is the pixel pitch, or the distance between pixels. This specification is usually measured in millimeters, and the smaller the pitch the sharper the image. Samsung offers a remarkable 0.282-millimeter pixel pitch for outstanding image clarity. The most talked about spec associated with LCD monitors is the measure of the difference of brightness levels between the brightest white and the darkest dark--the contrast ratio. With a contrast ration of 3000:1, this monitor assures crisp, easy-to-view images. Lastly, Samsung has designed this monitor with MagicColor to improve hue and saturation of colors. This function also adjusts mid-level colors to shades that the human eye accepts as natural. By enhancing the contrast ratio with MagicColor, fresh images with exceptional clarity spring to life, even on a darker screen. Connectivity is also important when choosing a monitor. The 226BW features an advanced dual interface that is capable of handling both analog video signals for present use, and digital video signals for the future. Whatever the signal sources are, this monitor will process those signals to give you an optimal viewing experience. In addition, this monitor features a standard D-Sub 15-pin connection and a fast DVI-D connection for your high-resolution demands. Other features include compatibility with all major operating systems (including Microsoft Vista's Premium standards) and an ultra-fast 2ms response time that virtually eliminates the "blur" that is present in 25, 16, and 12ms monitors (this is especially good news for gamers). Plus, with Samsung you have Magic Technologies, such asMagicBright3 and MagicTune, right at your fingertips. MagicBright3 is a new feature that provides the best viewing environment depending on the contents of the image you are watching, and MagicTune is Samsung's OSD (On-Screen Display) solution that provides a simple, convenient adjustment to the best image quality.

Awesome monitor for the price November 6, 2008 KungFu Pirate Pants I've had this monitor for over a year now and it's been very reliable. No dead pixels even after bottle cap was jettisoned right in to the screen.
CMO version of "Samsung" 226BW...Perfect! September 18, 2008 mehdy After opening the box: made in Malaysia feb 2008 sticker with no version (s?) Hidden menu:go to menu, contrast and brightness to zero, menu again, then hold source for 5 sec...It is a CMO version, the worst one as based on the 1000 reviews I read before on the net. Plug the monitor on the vga port of my LG laptop (Geforce GO 7400 512Mb). Picture looks great, not a single adjustment required. Call of Duty 4,World in conflict...running perfectly on 16:10,clear images on action. DVD's: The Thin Red Line...WONDERFUL! So what about the so deadly blue rendering, the dark top,the fade colors, the noise, the difference with other versions...? NOTHING!!! Even the stand is OK for me. Great product!
All around great monitor August 29, 2008 N. Reimers (Clemmons, NC) Love this monitor and I'm running 2 of them on my computer, which is a must IMO... makes everything so much easier to do. :) Great contrast, color, clarity and software that comes with it... unit is very solid and looks great. Can't beat it for the price.
What an amazing difference from a 50 pound 19" monitor... August 15, 2008 D. S. Henriques (Brazil) I used to own one of those huge bulky 19" inch flat-screen monitors before this one, and am I glad I made the switch - so much space on my desk now!! Now about the monitor itself: Beautiful colors, awesome size so if you're into gaming like I am this is a new experience. Also, this is perfect for web-designers and those who use photo-editors and the likes. Plenty of room to leave all toolbars, menus, etc. on the screen. I actually bought mine a little over a year ago, and I know now they have monitors with a higher contrast ratio, but this is perfect. I do not intend on replacing while it still works.
great montior but try to buy them at a lower price and better service at COSTCO's August 9, 2008 Roberto C. Magalhaes (Chicago Illinois) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like any purchase of considerable value, I went over a fair number of reviews before committing to a purchase, Suffice to say this is my second Samsung 22" monitor as I need multiple screens for my kind of work. As I try to think of helpful comments to make, I can only come to this; 1) You can not get more of a monitor than the video card is able to do.So spending time comparing highly technical monitor performance metrics is an exercise in futility. 2) While manufacturers go out of their way to make product claims, 90% of all monitors are made by the same 2 or 3 manufacturers in China. Don't buy into the idea hat brand x is better than brand y. Chances are they are the same product with different packaging. 3) I have had a 225BW and a 226BW working 24/7 for a year now and they are very sturdy and reliable. 3) Beware of "out of the box" and refurbished goods. They are not worth the price and getting the traditionally good Amazon customer service from Amazon has become considerably harder and altogether a very annoying experience, unless of course you are proficient at Hindi.Complaint letters to Jeff Besos, once very effective procedure, now go unanswered. 4) CostCo has repeatedly offered this model at a lower price and frankly, they have much better customer service and naturally you save on shipping. 5) Avoid using the otherwise very good mage enhancing software provided by Samsung as it does not interface well with Windows XP Overall a good buy.
