Neat device but doesn't always work October 8, 2008 B. Cochell (Denver, CO USA) Love the idea, use it daily. Wish it worked 100%. Almost everytime I turn on my receiver, the wireless box doesn't respond and I have to reset the receiver.
A wonderful addition! August 20, 2008 Florida Bum (Daytona Beach, FL) I purchased the SWA-3000 wireless module to go with my Samsung HT-TX75 home theater system. The theater system ended up going in for repairs, but the wireless module has been flawless. The module consists of basically four pieces: The electronic module, an interface card for the home theater system, and two sets of speaker wire. For those new to "wireless" you need to understand that you can't change a speaker - if it isn't wireless from the factory, it's going to need wires. What the modules allows you to do is avoid running wires around your home to reach the theater system. The (usually rear speaker) audio signal is sent via radio waves to the wireless module, which picks it up and sends it (via wires) to the speakers. The positive: You can use any speakers you want with this module - you're not forced to use some second-rate speakers bundled with the system. The negative: You still have to run some wires to the speakers from the module. OK, so how hard is it to use? It could not be easier. The wires are connected to the speakers and the module. The interface card is plugged into the theater system. The module is plugged into the wall outlet. Voila! You have speakers! I've uploaded some pictures of my setup. I had no difficulty at all setting up the wireless portion. Mounting the speakers on the wall... well, that was a little more demanding what with flat speaker wire and all... But that's another review. Pros: - Reasonably priced - Good sound - Simple to setup - Not locked into certain speakers Cons: - Still need wires to the speakers - Making the module smaller would be an improvement - Requires Samsung theater system (this wireless system will not work with another brand)
Have a question - need answer b4 purchase August 6, 2008 C. Chalman Just wondering: no where here does it say this can be used universally for rear speaker surround with ANY receiver brand. Does this item have to be used with a Samsung HT or can I use it with my older Technics receiver???? Thanks anyone, for answering!
A must for the best Home Theater Experience! May 14, 2008 Jerry (Dandridge, TN) Easy setup right out of the box! A must for a great home theater experience if you have no way to run wires to the back area of your viewing situation.
Not what I expected April 5, 2008 W. Jones (Oregon) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Was disappointed in that I thought all the speakers would be wireless, you can only separate the front from rear and still need wires between them. Also had fidelity problems - hissing and low volume;ended up sending them back - no problem with that though.
