Amazon.com Product Description
Ideal for dorm rooms, parties, and outdoor picnics, the GPX BCD1806 boombox packs a solid array of features into an affordable package. As with many of GPX's stereo systems, simplicity is the hallmark here. The front of the boombox--which is equipped with a CD player and AM/FM tuner--features six intuitive buttons for quick and easy system control. Once users load a CD, CD-R, or CD-RW into the top tray, they can take advantage of the repeat play and song skip/search functions. Listeners can also monitor basic track information through the two-digit red LED display or catch a ballgame or their favorite NPR program through the integrated AM/FM tuner.

The system's satisfying audio performance stems from its pair of stereo speakers, which are equipped with mesh metal grilles for stylish protection. The speakers and other components are housed in a sleek curved chassis that offers a nice alternative to traditional boxy models. Additional features include a detachable AC power cord. Appropriately for a portable player, the BCD1806 also runs independently on eight "C" batteries (not included) and employs a carrying handle for easy transport.

The BCD1806 measures 9.5 by 4.7 by 9.1 inches (W x H x D) and is backed by a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome little CD/Radio!   June 28, 2008
C. Marino (Richmond, VA USA)
This is a great little CD player/radio for an office. I don't play it on full blast so I can't vouch for full sound. Does a very nice job a low levels on both CD's and radio.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for the nursery   June 4, 2008
Lauren Magliaro (Rockaway NJ)
This was exactly what we were looking for for our son's nursery. It doesn't take up a lot of room and the white kind of blends into the background. Easy to use.

1 out of 5 stars Broke within weeks of Purchase   May 28, 2008
A. Weaver
I would avoid purchasing this CD player. It died within a couple weeks of extremely limited use. Basically it does not play CD anymore but the radio works.

4 out of 5 stars Great Value for the Price   May 24, 2008
N. Shevchuk
I purchased this for my preschool classroom and am very satisfied. The only drawback I've found so far is that the volume does not get very loud, which is fine in the classroom, but was not usable when we were in a large room practicing for our graduation. Other than that, the sound quality is great and everything works so far!

2 out of 5 stars Skippy... not the peanut butter kind.   May 13, 2008
Michael Skalski (Marlton, NJ)
Decent CD player for the price. We bought it for our baby, so we weren't going Bose. Anyway, it's ok, but it skips like crazy. If a feather lands on it, the CD skips... seriously. Also, the repeat and other similar functions are a little complex and confusing. And, no, it's not us! :)
