The first USB turntable that lets you convert your old vinyl collection directly to CD or MP3, the Ion Audio iTTUSB is a must for people who don't want to deal with clumsy adapters or mismatched software when transferring formats. Requiring no special drivers, the turntable comes with Audacity, a recording application that works with both PCs and Macs, as well a trial version of Bias Soundsoap 2 to clean and restore vinyl recordings. As an alternative, the turntable also works with any other software that supports USB audio input sound cards. Once connected, the turntable transfers both 33-1/3 rpm albums and 45 rpm singles to digital formats in mere minutes. The iTTUSB also offers a few hardware extras, such as an adjustable anti-skating control for increased stereo balancing, an adjustable pitch control (+/- 8 percent), and support for high-speed vinyl recording. My father has been having a hard time in using the product. He has already installed it but he has not learned how to record his old long-plays. He has beeing doing it by himselsf but - I guess - there is not a manual in portuguese nor in espanish.
So far, that's all I have do say about the product.
I ordered the product from Brasil, where I live. It was deliveried in time in NYC, where I spent part of my vacations.

I bought An Ion TTUSB10 turntable last Christmas (9 months ago)and have still not been able to convert any of my vinyl to MP3s! I've tried to email Ion"s Tech Department and Audacity but received no reply from either! I had no trouble hooking the Ion up to my iMac and am running OSX version 10.4.11. I have loaded EZvinyl converter and have tried to use Audacity version 1.2.4 with no success at all.
Before I got the Ion, I was converting my vinyl using my old sound system turntable with AudioX 3.2.1 and was having no problems. I was looking forward to the convenience offered by an Ion turntable, but so far with no success. I understand that Ethan Zuckerman has obtained some new information on linking an Ion to a Mac, but I have been unable to find an email address for him. Is there any way that I can get a clear list of instructions, ie: 1) Do this, 2) Then do this, 3) Now do this? Reach me at bestaviationart@yahoo.ca

Turntable itself is fine. The directions were either written by someone for whom English is a second language or written for too many models and lumped into one booklet. Trial and error and common sense prevails.

I recently purchased the Ion TTUSB turntable so I could transfer my vinyl to digital. I was very pleased with the unit, the design is user friendly, with two large stop/start buttons located at the corners so one doesn't disturb the stylus when finding and recording tracks.
The software makes transfer a breeze, just sit back and listen to your oldies and allow the memories to flow back!
You can also use Audacity if you want to record and tweak the recording or record 78's by recording them at 33 or 45 and re doing them at 78. Very nice feature for those with 78 records out there.
All in all, I am very happy with the unit, the price was right and use is a piece of cake, just plug it in and go!

I could not get this to work with my computer. I kept getting error messages about reinstalling Quicktime and/or iTunes. None of it made sense. When googling the error I read that this tends to be a problem with this product.
Now the company I got this from, Electronics expo, is giving me a hard time about the return, and refund.
