Amazon.com Product Description Relive the era of sock hops and soda jerks with this classic Teac '50-style stereo system. The SL-A200B combines a mid-20th-century aesthetic (witness the jukebox-like front panel and three-speed semiautomatic turntable) with a modern touch (a front-loading CD player), letting listeners tap into both their classic LP collections and contemporary CD catalogues. The system also includes an analog AM/FM tuner with a rotary dial and a pair of integrated stereo speakers with chrome highlights. It's the belt-driven turntable that really impresses, however, as it not only looks cool, but plays back 33-1/3 rpm albums, 45 rpm singles, and classic jazz-age 78s--a speed for every taste. It also includes a cover that protects the vinyl during playback. Though the SL-A200B comes with stereo speakers, listeners can opt instead to connect the system to a separate receiver through the pair of rear RCA outputs. Once connected, the turntable, CD player, and radio can serve as components for a more robust stereo system, letting you expand their audio potential. The system also includes a headphone jack for private listening. So whether you need a good tabletop stereo for listening in your basement bar or you're a nostalgia nut that needs a reliable turntable/CD system, the SL-A200B's blend of classic and contemporary is an ideal choice. The system measures 15.19 by 7.33 by 15.19 inches (W x H x D) and weighs 13.2 pounds. What's in the Box SL-A200B stereo system, user's manual.
Product Description It's the best of times. Styled from the mid 20th century, this compact system offers the ability to play old-time records while still offering up-to-date technology for current CDs. This nostalgic record player comes with a host of thoroughly modern features and full range stereophonic sound. It has a semi automatic, belt driven turntable that spins 33, 45 or 78 rpm phonograph vinyl records. It also has a single CD player and an AM/FM radio. Best of all can be used alone or in conjunction with your own stereo system components thanks to a pair of RCA jacks on the back. Past and present enjoined for a pleasurable future. Jack for adding an optional stereo headphone for private listening

my new stereo September 12, 2006 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I ordered this turntable stereo because I have over 300 vinyl albums that I would like to be able to play and recently got rid of my gigantic 1970's era stereo with speakers. I love the compact size of this turntable and the sound quality is just fine. There's nothing like putting on ABBA's greatest hits and hearing "Mamma Mia" coming out of the speakers. It will put a smile on anyone's face!
Phonograph, Radio, and CD Player by Teac July 19, 2005 72 out of 72 found this review helpful
I have just received this as a birthday present, and am very pleased with it. While the design of the object remains true to older models, with its sturdy and shiny black plastic outside and jukebox appearance, there are new features that make it possible to play all of your music on one machine- a radio, and a high-tech cd drive. A casette player is not included- not that it really matters, but that might be helpful to someone. A durable cover is included, and there are two display colors, orange and blue, for the backlights that you see when the machine is set on am, fm, phono, and cd.
I am happy to say that the record playing part of the machine is automatic and not digitalized. Although this means you must move the arm manually, it still feels dated and 'cool'. I liked this because it enabled me to listen to my mother's old records the way that she would have 30 years ago. However, the arm does not automatically come off the album once it is done playing, like a lot of the old ones. You have to do that yourself, as well. The radio feature has a nifty old-fashioned station selector, as well, which only adds to the feeling. However, the CD drive does have a small digital function so that you can see what song you are listening to.
Overall, this is one of the best three-in-one turntables on the market. The smaller, flat ones that are claimed to be more high-tech actually tend to skip a lot more. If you're looking for a turntable and want a genuine dated-feeling one but don't want to risk the problems with second-hand ones (like my old one, which turned out to have a huge problem with the amplifier), then this is the way to go. I haven't had any problems with this one.
