| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Definitive has always led the industry with the best-sounding shielded center channels available. Optimum surround sound home theater reproduction places heavy demands on the center channel speaker, which in many respects is the main speaker in the system and often handles 50% or more of the program material. It is no place to compromise and settle for second best. Because of this, Definitive pioneered the concept of full frequency range high-definition center-channel speakers. Definitive's center channels and C/L/Rs are consistently rated as the best available, and have won numerous Audio Video Grand Prix Center Channel of the Year Awards each and every year. Our current offerings are the best ever, all featuring wide frequency response and extended dynamic range with extraordinary detail and articulation. All feature non-resonant monocoque cabinets with Linkwitz-Riley crossover networks, pure aluminum dome tweeters and die-cast-basket bass/midrange drivers in D'Appolito arrays.

Great center channel speaker that is Plasma TV/wall mount friendly September 23, 2008 lorrae (federal way, wa USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After having these speakers (also have the promonitor 1000's and BP1.2X surrounds) for about six months, I can recommend them whole heartedly. I have had speakers from PSB, Boston Acoustics, Paradigm and Yamaha. These Definitives are unrivaled for clarity. Don't be fooled by their size, these things can fill a room with sound. They have two built in wall mounting options, Keyhole slot and threaded insert, that makes them very decor/plasma TV friendly. They also rate very high on the "Wife Approval Factor" for aesthetics. Understand that these speakers do require at least a couple of weeks break in time to sound their best.
DEF TECH PRCENTER 2000 August 19, 2008 JSR 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you're looking for a speaker that's better than most but at the same time won't break your budget, the DEFTECH line of speakers is defintely a good investment. I have the complete 5.1 set up with DEFTECH promonitor 1000 for front and surround, procenter 2000 for center and prosub 1000 s/w. The procenter 2000 upgrade is well worth this investment especially for bigger rooms but I would probably recommend going with a Velodyne DPS 12" for the subwoofer ( in my case because of the room size), although the prosub 1000 is holding it's own quite well. Good investment, good price, good quality, excellent sound for both music and movies.
Excellent speaker, great experience July 17, 2008 Bullwyf (Austin, Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Love the sound - totally changed music and movie sounds for the better. Arrived on time in great condition. I love the speaker. I replaced an Infinity Beta 250, which was good, but this one is very, very rich and clear, both at the lower and higher frequencies.
