 Excellent Product--What I'd Expect from Sony January 31, 2010

I bought these huge floor speakers--the Sony SSF-5000 Floor Standing 3-Way Speakers for more than what they're sold from Amazon today but it was well-worth the extra few bucks! I received the shipment in 3 days after I had ordered them and they work excellently along with my old Sony receiver and several additional speakers giving me the surround sound I desired. They have a full range of sounds (except for the deepest bass that I get from my Sony SA-WM500 Subwoofer and it's excellent sounds, too) from the woofer speaker to the tweeters (and everything in between)! Unlike some other floor speakers I have had, it has a single push-in connection which makes it a lot easier to hook up to my whole system. This speaker plus my Sony SS-CN5000 Dual 5.25" Center Channel Speaker are all excellent in producing excellent ranges of sounds from the Jazz and Classical music I play from my computer through my receiver. I would recommend these products to anyone who likes the good sounds Sony products produce and I think that Sony products are very dependable and excellent in quality (and I don't work for Sony either but just one "sold" consumer of their products).
Big Sound For a Little Price January 27, 2010

I purchased these to replace a pair of Yamaha speakers in my home theatre system. I am impressed with how big these speakers sound. No, they are not "audiophile" quality, but for most, and I mean probably 95% of people out there, these will more than suffice. The bass response is huge. I'm now rethinking whether or not I really need a subwoofer for my system. The mids are just right and not too out front. The highs are perfect for me, not too trebly but sharp and crisp. I have a 5.1 system and these speakers really compliment the whole thing. Absolutely the best bang for my buck in a long time. You will not be disappointed...well, unless you're an audiophile purist. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If you've got the money to shell out for mega thousand dollar systems, I say go for it. But if you're on a budget, like most of us these days, I can highly recommend these speakers.

Pro: cheap, great bass
Cons: comparing to the next level (Polk Tsi300) poor sound stage, muffled, lack detail. After listening to Polk's never want to listen to these again.

I have been looking for a pair of 3-way speakers comparable to the old Technics with 12" woofers I had as a teenager. I must say these Sony speakers are awesome and sound just as good as them old Technics. Hook up a 12" sub woofer along with them and WOW! If you are looking for some awesome sounding speakers at a low cost look no further, you will not be sorry.
