Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
NHT's Classic Series represents their best efforts to date in passive loudspeaker design. Classic speakers start with the design fundamentals that have made NHT's reputation for accuracy and high performance, and add new driver and cabinet technologies which reduce distortion and improve dispersion. The benefit to you is a more articulate, more musical listening experience. The Twelve's gracefully curved cabinet houses a massive 12" aluminum cone driver and an efficient, powerful 250 watt Class G amplifier- a duo capable of filling even the largest rooms with powerful, clean deep bass. Boundary EQ, adjustable phase, and LFE outputs make this subwoofer easy to integrate into any high performance audio/video system.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome lows, and very musical   June 12, 2007

What can I say about the Twelve? It does exactly what I expected it to do. Coupled with an Onkyo receiver and NHT Classic Zero bookshelf speakers for L and R, music listening is pure joy. Low bass lines don't come and go like I've heard with lesser subs. They come out even and smooth, and always musical. And the 27 Hz. response ensures that movie effects will rattle your cage as needed. Note that it's 27 Hz. at -3dB, not -10dB or "unspecified" like with some. I'm sure the 27 could have been lower if NHT wanted to get weanie with the numbers - they deserve credit for being straight up about it. I'm sure the Classic Ten would suffice for most situations, but there are times (usually during movies) when the Twelve moves enough air that I'm happy I got the extra size and wattage. (It scares the pets, so that's a good sign, right? Heh heh.)
