Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Radio alarm clock plays TV audio and weather band alerts. Get all of your music, news, sports, and weather information from a single, portable source. The Sonido AM-FM-TV-Weather Radio is more than a typical AM/FM receiver. This radio alarm clock also plays audio from TV channels 2 through 13 as well as alerts from the NOAA weather bands, so you'll never again have to seek information from another source. The Sonido AM-FM-TV-Weather Radio is powered by the included adapter or four D batteries (not included). The Sonido AM-FM-TV-Weather Radio is very simple to operate. Just select a band; digital tuning allows easy control, and the backlit display makes stations easy to read. Set five memory presets per band for one-button access to your favorite stations or channels. Connect your MP3 Player or another audio device to the input jack to use the Sonido AM-FM-TV-Weather Radio as a standalone 3-inch high-fidelity speaker. Or you can connect your headphones and enjoy the Sonido in full stereo sound without disturbing your spouse.

5 out of 5 stars Great radio   October 12, 2008
D. Fields (Maryland)
Great clock/power outage radio. I was looking for better reception and this radio has great reception. Also needed something for frequent power outages and it meets that need. Very easy to use.

4 out of 5 stars Big improvement over other radios here   October 3, 2008
Joshua C. Alpern (Atlanta, GA USA)
Bought the radio because one here (another brand/type) broke. Have a very high interference environment for AM broadcast band, and need a better quality radio to escape intense buzzing sounds from fluorescent lighting. This radio was a huge improvement, much clearer and more crisp. As a result I listen to it a great deal more than the radio which broke

3 out of 5 stars Good radio, but with a caveat.   September 26, 2008
Anthony G. O'Malley Jr. (Center Valley, PA USA)
I purchased the Sonido radio based upon the reviews posted on Amazon which praised the superior AM reception of the radio. AM reception was my main purpose for purchasing the radio as my venue in Pennsylvania made it difficult to listen to Yankee broadcasts out of NYC (some 110 mile away).

Thus my expectation was high. I was therefore disappointed when putting the radio to the test when radio's reception was found to be no better than other radios used in my home. I even tried to incorporate the use of an additional antenna, and so purchased a Sangean Twin Coil Ferrite AM Antenna. That too did not significantly improve my AM reception(either for NYC stations or for closer Philadelphia stations). The Twin Coil was returned to Amazon soon after its initial use.

The Sonido is a good radio as it has nice sound and good FM reception, but it simply falls short of the AM reception claims. So I only give it 3 stars. Now, to be fair, I live in a Valley area and so the geographic location of my residence may play a part in what radio signals come through. Though my car radio picks up a better AM signal while driving in the neighborhood I live then does the Sonido.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent radio   September 17, 2008
Michael R. Schleis (Silverdale, WA)
Read the many reviews and decided to buy this radio for my wife to use outside in the gardens and greenhouse. She loves it, we have difficulty with reception in the area we live in, but this radio picks up the Seattle radio stations and weather stations with no problem and has good clarity.

5 out of 5 stars Nice Radio   September 16, 2008

This is the perfect size radio with a great sound. Easy to use. My only
problem with it is that there is no handle to carry it. Outside of that
I am glad I purchased this radio.
