Fine little radio-- a fine bargain. October 4, 2008 Radson This is the third one on these radios I've purchased through many years. I give them rough treatment by frequently shuttling them between greenhouse and home, and have found them indispensable.
forget the weather band feature September 8, 2008 Diane Stearns (Massapequa, New York USA) The am/fm is fine but the radio is useless as a weather band radio. I received it as gift to be kept in my garage/shop area to be able to check weather reports before fishing trips. As a small craft boater weather reports are critical. The Weather band tuning is difficult(impossible) because of minute adjustments and faint reception. I have relegated it to musical use on the boat and beach where it works great. I don't know if that tv function works but I would not reccomend spending any money on this product under the guise of it being a weather radio.
SONY ICF-36 TV/AM/FM RADIO August 12, 2008 Sharyn Granstrom (CA) This is great I just ordered another one. One for work one for home. Highly recommend.!!! SharynSony ICF-36 Portable AM/FM/TV/Weather Radio
This radio is awesome June 11, 2008 Larry Fasnacht (Omaha, NE United States) This radio is amazing. I am still working on the first set of batteries I put in over a year ago. I have not used the built in AC plug as it is simply easier to use it on battery power. It gets very good resception on FM and AM. It is light weight and easy to carry. I have abused this to some degree and it just keeps on playing. They only thing I would like to see is an AUX input for an Ipod. Great radio. Highly recommended.
Best Radio For The Dollar May 2, 2008 Colin T. Stump (Lancaster,Ohio) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading all the positive reviews for this great little radio I bought one for my brother last year as a Christmas present. Naturally I had to try it out before giving it to him and was most impressed by it's performance. Our local Sears store had them on sale for $23.95 and I had a $40.00 gift card burning a hole in my pocket so I bought one. After using it for three weeks I'm glad I did. It performs well on all bands(well the weather band is not so hot but it's tough to get here) the fidelity is very good and the analog tuner is as smooth and precise as any I've found. The volume control is very linear in it's operation and the L.E.D. tuning light I've found to be usefull as well. My main interest in radio is A.M. dx'ing and after comparing it to other more expensive radios in this area such as the C Crane CC Radio Plus,Kaito KA-1103,and G.E.Super Radio II, this Sony will hang in there with all of them. If you want to get in on A.M. long range listening and don't want to invest alot of money this radio is your best choice. I would recommend it over the double the price Super Radio III which has never impressed me. For the price you get alot of radio for the money. It's no slouch on F.M. either. I'm happy with it and highly recommend it.
