Product Description The DS-A2x comes with an on-screen display mode (OSD) that enables you to view track lists, artists, albums, songs, genres, composers on your connected display for easy selection and navigation. If you have long lists on your iPod, you can use four page modes, Large, Medium, Small and Page, to move through the list in progressively larger steps. You'll have absolutely no need to handle your iPod while it's sitting in the DS-A2x as it comes with its own remote controller to control all basic playback functions. The remote controller also brings one-touch control for random shuffle playback over songs or albums, a resume function that will return to the track being played when the iPod is stopped or removed from the Dock and a repeat function for one track or all. You can also switch off the OSD to enjoy video playback via the DS-A2x's composite video output. View photos as a slide show over the larger display of your TV or enjoy viewing your photos over you computer display. Relive your images with the option of music through your Onkyo system to accompany your slide show. Must have addition to your Onkyo A/V system October 7, 2008 B. Wilson One of the best purchases I've made this year! Being able to listen to all the music off of my iPod while having the wonderful aesthetics of a cleanly designed piece. The best part of the docking station is the remote that comes with it. With the push of one button on the remote - the iPod turns on, the A/V unit goes to the proper channel, and I'm listening to my favorite tunes. A must have for any Onkyo system.
Easy iPod docking to Home Theater October 3, 2008 Covalar1 (Dallas, TX USA) I am using this dock with an Onkyo A/V receiver. Very easy to connect.
onkyo dock September 18, 2008 John G. Fogelsinger (mich) Works well with my tx-sr 606. 606 remote controls most functions.Plain graphics, but does the job. Kudos to amazon, they had the lowest price I could find, and it came 2 days before estimated date, even with super-saver shipping, great job!
nice, but osd doesn't work August 4, 2008 C. Schulze (USA) Overall, I like it, despite the following shortcomings. The interaction between the dock and the receiver is promising, except that the iPhone says "accessory attached" or something and since the "on screen display" won't display on the tv, I can't see what album, title, etc. is playing. I suspect it is an issue with the receiver (TX-SR505) not sending the video image on to the tv, but that is just a guess. I have to select the playlist or whatever and THEN plug the iPhone in to the dock. Lots of monkeying around with it so far and I'm still not done. Sounds great though. (Same issues with an iPod attached, btw.)
Performs as advertised July 12, 2008 sylar After initially getting to grips with the user interface it does what it says its supposed to. I found it a little difficult to use the onkyo receiver remote to control it. The instruction book wasn't very clear either on how to link the dock to your receiver remote but the small dock remote works just fine. And yes the on screen display is somewhat dated but most of the time I play my music with the tv off anyway. The music quality is great and I am quite happy with the purchase. My wife is listening to some jazz right now on our home theater while reading a book so its already being put to use.
