Product Description
Do you hear music when there's no one there? The Harman Kardon 3385 Stereo Receiver is the core component of a sound system geared to deliver great audio performance at home or in your office. It uses the same high-current, ultrawide-bandwidth amplifier design found in Harman Kardon's home-theater receivers but is optimized to reproduce superb 2-channel stereo for music and video-sound. It has an AM/FM tuner, four video inputs, a phono input and a cable for direct audio/video connection to an iPod or MP3 player. It's all controlled by an included multicomponent remote. You don't need a basket of remotes! Customize the sounds you want to hear. Add 2 of your favorite optional speakers or listen with headphones from the front integrated headphone jack. Connect your TV, your DVD or CD player, a VCR, even your good old turntable. Sit back and enjoy high-quality audio as you've never heard before. Headphone Jack for adding optional headphones or earphones Phono input - Connect your turntable component to play those old records Cable for connecting a digital media player (i.e MP3 or iPod) Multibrand remote control Unit Dimensions WHD - 17.4 x 6.6 x 15 (442 x 168 x 382 mm) Unit Weight - 20.9 lb (9.48kg)

5 out of 5 stars Harmon Kardon HK3385   August 28, 2008

I'm very please with this receiver. A plus is that it has a phono connection for your LP's. However, I found it very difficult to hook up.
I made several trips to Radio Shack for the necessary connections. I wouldnt want to hook it up again, ever!

5 out of 5 stars Amazing for the price   July 24, 2008

Got rid of my old KLH and behold! Now my JBL speakers, which I blamed for the crappy sound, are perfect! What a difference a good, yet inexpensive, amp makes...

4 out of 5 stars Good thing I bought it last week!   June 29, 2008

I purchased this receiver last week at J&R, through Amazon for $199 free shipping!!! I came back to write this review and now the price is up to 399 plus shipping. Imagine my surprise!
The receiver was shipped to me very quickly within 3 days. The set-up was simple, since this is a STEREO unit. Very satisfied with the crisp and clean sound. I have it connected to a set of 15 year old Triad speakers (3 pc, with subwoofer). The subwoofer with this set of speakers is wired with the left and right speaker terminals, thus requiring power from the amp. The subwoofer outputs of the receiver require a powered subwoofer, so I am unable to use this feature. The sound is well balanced thougout the frequency range, however.
What surprised me is the size of this unit. It's quite large and takes up more space in the cabinet than my old Denon 5.1 surround reciever did. Unfortunately, lightening damaged the old Denon.
This receiver sounds good for $199, but I'd do some shopping before plunking down $399 plus for it.

4 out of 5 stars Basic-does the trick   June 25, 2008

This is a basic stereo receiver I purchased for getting back into vinyl. It is simple, straightforward and does a nice job. My only complaint is that it is advertised as Ipod compatable and I found that the Harmon dock does not work with this receiver. So you have to connect using audio/video jacks on the front. Other than that, I am quite happy with this item.

i recently purchased the HK-3385 and am impressed with the sound quality, the ease of use, and general design :) big plus, it includes a phono input! the only con is the volume control uses -DB, instead of the usual 1-10, however, u can get used to it
