Product that still needs work December 25, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I received this watch for Christmas today. After charging the watch and the headset, I attempted to connect the headset up to my laptop using Bluetooth. I'm using a Dell XPS M1710 with 4 gigs of memory and running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition. After turning on the headset and searching for a new Bluetooth device, the headset was found successfully. However, it wanted me to insert the drivers for the headset. I read the included instruction guide and it says to insert the driver CD. Guess what? My watch didn't come with a driver disk. Was that a mistake? I can't seem to locate any drivers for the headset on the GoldLantern.com website either. I successfully copied all of my mp3 songs to the watch using the supplied USB cable. After both the watch and the headset were fully charged, I turned the power on to both devices and the headset paired up with the watch successfully. I can now play my songs.
However, I will be returning this watch. My original intent was to purchase the watch so I could workout at the gym (lift weights, run on the treadmill, etc...) The problem is, any kind of movement with my arm (walking, jogging, lifting, etc..), the music cuts out and skips constantly. The only way to get the song to play without skipping is to sit perfectly still with my hands close to my body. I'm 6 ft tall. If I fully extend my arm (in front, above, below, or to the side or even walking normally), the music starts cutting out and skipping. I would rather work out with no music at all than listen to music constantly cutting out. This product still needs some work. The product support on their website needs work as well, it doesn't have any drivers available for the headset and doesn't have any FAQ's about the product. I guess it's a chance you take on new technology. I emailed GoldLantern today and will be eagerly waiting a response. Unless you're a child or an adult with short arms, I would not recommend this product.
