Best MP-3 / Video player out for the Money.... July 5, 2008
I've owned many MP-3 players over the years, Dell Jukebox, 1st generation Zune and others. Some have broke some have been lost or stolen but in all the creative Zen line is the best. I still currently own a creative zen w which has worked flawlessly for years, and it's loaded with tv shows and music. I record shows on my pc and then transfer them to my zen and play them through my cars audio sytem on lunch, I never miss a show or not find time to watch one. I've owned the zen 8 gb for a few months now and have never gotten a white screen or any lock up at all. My favorite part is that the memory is expandable through sd cards, the same my camera uses so I have a few. Another plus is that you can just take the sd card out of your camera and plug it in the zen and all your pictures are there for the showing. The screen is crisp and clear, the sound is superb and the controls are easy to use as is the software. We own a creative zen w , a creative stone and now this and they all work without a hitch. Craetive also lets you play all styles of audio and many video formats, many of the others done. Especially Ipods. But them again apple has always tried to just have you use there formats.
Great Music Player July 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The media player is easy to use, and the CD ripping software perfect. I have over 80 albums on the player, and it still has 1/3 of the memory free. The sound is great, and the FM radio feature locks on the stations well, even in an area of congested frequency assignments. The SD card feature allows even more space than I will ever need. The small physical size makes it a pleasure to carry around.
Great alternative to Ipod/Zune June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Excellent flash based player. Intuitive interface, nice screen, solid build quality.
The only downfall is the front of the player is a magnet for smudges.
Mine does not work out of box, White screen! June 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I read several reviwers indicated that this MP3 has quality issues that may results in white screen out of box. I thought it may be a small percentage and I would try my luck. Unfortunately, The Zen arrived is a defective one with only white screening when it is turned on after charging. I was very disapointed and returned it back. Amazon is very good to take it back. They paid all shipping. I have no loss in this transaction. However, I am very mad at Creative creating such a bad product.
Good Product, but Beware!!! June 25, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Well, I loved my zen. It had really good picture quality, video was awesome, the user interface was easy to use, and the sound quality was alright, but much better when I used my own headphones, and most importantly, it had a expandable slot for an SD card.
Now here comes the bad part...after a couple of charges, everything was great, except that the battery life wasn't as great as what I was expecting. When I charged it, I left it on the USB cord all night, like i usually do. The next morning I took it off and left for work. When I came home, I tried turning it on, and got nothing. When I plugged it into the computer, it still didn't turn on.
The point of this story is BUYER BEWARE!! I gave this three stars because I really liked all the features and look of the Zen, but took two off because of how long it lasted. :)
I returned it to Amazon for a refund, and am now getting an Apple Ipod Touch.
