it's kind crappy June 22, 2008 BklynBabe It didn't work right out the box-I truly thought it was defective, I constantly have to press the reset button so I carry a paper clip around on it, trying to find a certain song on it is annoying, I have almost 400 songs and I'm out of space, the battery drains all the time even when it is off... on the plus...the ear buds are wonderful! very comfortable!! And I have senstive ears and can't handle most headphones. The sound is good, The screen is very nice to look at, very colorful. ...but overall, I cuss at it more than I praise it.
Great! Super easy to use. June 9, 2008 M. Kilpatrick I, or rather Santa bought this mp3 player for my son (5 years old) for Christmas. He absolutely loves it! The ear buds NEVER leave his ears. It was VERY easy to teach him how to use. He likes how small it is, it just slips easily into a pocket. So far it's stood up to the constant dropping and abuse from him with no problems. It charges fairly quick and keeps a charge for about 12 or so hours. Im not sure how many songs it holds but he has about 30 two or three minute songs on there now. I would definitely recommend this mp3 player because it cheap and reliable.
Piece Garbage along with RCA Customer Service June 3, 2008 Suzanne Meyer (Leland, NC United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this for mother's day and from the moment I plugged it in my computer didn't recognize it. Tried to take it back because it was defective (I spent each night for 2 weeks installing, uninstalling, restarting and resetting the computer and the MP3 Player) and Walmart wouldn't take it. RCA's customer service is only open until 5:30 and not on Saturday's so the normal working person can't make it home in time to talk to anyone. I e-mailed and (Surprise!) no one e-mailed back. I finally spoke to them today and, even though the product is DEFECTIVE, without the original receipt they also wont take it back. I have been in the customer service field my entire life and I have never experienced such shoddy and inadequate customer service policies. DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM! Now I am stuck with a 60 dollar piece of garbage. Great.
Mine doesn't work either! April 11, 2008 Kari (US) RCA does not stand behind is product! I bought an MP3 that they admit is DEFFECTIVE but they will charge me $62 for a replacement when I paid $59 for it at a local store! And no there products are NOT Vista compatible. They don't have any other alternative drivers or software for vista at this point. But I found a way around that to find out that the Mp3 player itself is deffective. Spent an hour on the phone with customer service and she told me I should send it back but I would have to pay more to replace it than I paid for it new! There customer service also informed me I wasn't the only one with these problems! STAY AWAY FROM RCA!!!! I had a similar thing happen some years ago with an rca VCR!
Not worth $60. April 9, 2008 Link King (Buena Vista, VA) I've had this thing for about a year and it works fairly well. I bought it off of a friend for about $40. He said he bought it for about $70. I think it's worth about maybe $30 at best. The battery life is not very good because it seems to lose battery power even when you aren't using it. I can maybe use it about 3 times before it loses its full charge. I was frustrated with it at first because I didn't figure out how to shut it down(hold down the middle button for about 4 sec.). Even shutting it down does not help battery life too much tho. It also takes forever to charge the device completely. The buttons are flat and uncomfortable to press although an advantage of flat buttons is that it will rarely change the song or turn on automatically. The interface is not the best either. I have nearly 2gb of music on the player and it takes forever to turn on(about 10 sec.). To select an artist or album takes awhile because the page loads very slowly. Also you have to keep pressing the uncomfortable button down to get to an artist. Normally that would be ok, but many artists and slow scrolling makes the task a tedious one. The shuffle feature is really bad on this mp3 player too; it seems to keep playing the same 10 songs over and over. I did not even try the video or picture feature because the software does not work on my mac nor does the installation process seem simple. When I connect the thing to my mac, it is pretty easy to drag songs to it though. If I were you, I would not buy this mp3 player...not only is RCA not a company that is reputable for quality products but there are better mp3 players out there that have better bang for the buck. All you need to do is look around on Amazon or pretty much anywhere on the web.
