 Magnavox DVD Player Review January 7, 2010

I expected better from a basic DVD player and other reviews led me to believe this would be better. We have a large selection of older DVD's and from day one, the player would have problems of freezing up. It seems the slightest smudge on the DVD would cause a problem. The remote was also incredibly cheap and basic with terribly poor button layout. After three days of frustration, I returned it for a refund. Avoid this unit if you can!

This player does not play Dixv files like the other reviews suggest, I had to return mine. The other reviews are for a different dvd player.

easy to operate. good value. why would anyone pay hundreds more for blue ray? the picture is great on my samsung 1080p 46" lcd. sharp and clear. it also cleans up dvds that i had burned from old recorded vhs tapes. nice machine!

The price was reasonable and the player works well. I really needed something that would play homemade dvd-r's and this unit works well. My only complaint is the tiny hard to read buttons on the remote. That will heal itself as I get re-trained to a new remote.

This was about the cheapest DVD player with an HDMI connection that I could find. It seems to work fine so far. Sometimes when I put in a movie there is no audio, so I turn the machine off and back on and the sound returns. Hopefully this doesn't develop into a persistent problem.
