Great sound for a Great Price December 20, 2008 Jeffrey L. Phelps (Iowa, USA) Great sound at a great price! Fair fit-they sometimes fall out with strenuous activity, but they are relatively comfortable. Much better than similarly priced JVC or Koss in terms of sound although Koss seem to fit better.
These headphones are poorly made. December 19, 2008 moogyfud Got the earphones late october 2008. Only use them for maybe one hour each day 3-5 times a week and the earphones were working only sporadically (sound would come in and out of right earpiece) by December 13, 2008. I am very careful with my electronic equipment and have had other earphones in the same price-range that lasted for years. Additionally, the earbuds WOULD NOT stay in my ear even after trying all the "nipples" provided. I would put them in they would feel secure then I take a few steps and they would shift making for very poor sound. If you plan to use these while sitting completely still they may work but evenso, a earphone should last more than 1.5 months. Complete waste of money.
Earbuds are a Dangerous Game December 19, 2008 G. Goldman (San Francisco, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 2 stars are for the aesthetics and versatility of this product, respectively. They definitiely appeal to a broad range of people, and its a great idea to include three different sizes for all ear canals. BUT... These are badly designed. Any earbud with such a narrow speaker is an open invitation for permanent hearing loss. I tried the small and medium sizes first and while the medium fit very snuggly, it felt WAY too deep. With the large, i couldn't get a good seal and subsequently wound up with poor bass quality. We were told for years to take caution when cleaning our ears with q-tips - all of a sudden, we throw that advise out the window in the name of convenience. Over the head or around the neck headphones are certainly cumbersome, but at least you know what you're getting. Too many earbuds are manufactured without accounting for people's poor judgement. Push em too far in to get a better seal and you wind up listening to dead silence for the next 50 years. These are also supposed to provide great bass and I was not impressed. When it comes to headphones, solid bass comes from a solid seal. Earmuff headphones are the best in the biz there. Any earbud trying to accomplish the same type of bass is going to warrant shoving them as far as possible into your ear. FYI, Sony offers more affordable earbuds with better audio quality and a safer design. Sony MDR-E828LP Fontopia Earbuds with Winding Case I've had em for a year and they've never failed.
Best sound for the money December 18, 2008 C. McLane I kept hearing these mentioned as the "Editor's Choice" and finally got a pair for my iPod. They are truly the best sounding ear buds for the money that you spend. The bass is very rich and deep without distortion, which is surprising in a pair of ear buds. They come with different size ear plugs too. When you have the right size in, all of the other environmental noises are drowned out so all you hear is the audio. I am truly impressed. If I had to say one thing bad about them it is that the wires seem a little thin and could be an issue after using them for a while, depending on how they are take care of. Overall these are the best sounding ear buds I have owned and at only $20.00 you can't go wrong.
Good sound, poor quality construction December 17, 2008 M. murphy (New York, NY United States) On sound quality, this V-Moda is a definite improvement over the iPhone buds. However, the plastic shell on V-Moda buds began to disintegrate after 6 weeks. Cheap plastic, cheaply constructed. Also, the wires are so thin that they're constantly getting twisted up. iPhone's wires seem the perfect gauge to avoid this. So, iPhone buds may be have mediocre sound, but they're much better made. I wouldn't buy the V-Moda again.
