The PXC 300 NoiseGard Advance is an ideal traveling companion, effectively reducing background noise on planes, trains and buses and therefore eliminating one of the main causes of stress while traveling. Users can sit back and relax with their favorite music or connect the headphones to the in-flight entertainment system a or even just wear them to enjoy some peace and quiet from the noise around them. And the PX 300 can be packed away in no time. Simply fold them together and store them in a small, shockproof case a ready for the next trip. The stylish design of the PXC 300 a brushed aluminum trim rings and high-attenuation ear pads made of a new kind of leatherette a is reflected in their natural, detailed sound. A special bass tube provides the necessary power at low frequencies. With the PXC300 NoiseGard Advance, Sennheiser has even succeeded in further enhancing the NoiseGard active noise compensation system. It now has a much lower sensitivity towards interference from such sources as cell phones. Constant low-frequency noise is reduced by up to 15 dB a even 10 dB would be perceived as halving the volume. Power is supplied to the NoiseGard electronics by two AAA batteries, providing the traveler with up to 80 hours of peace and quiet. Without batteries, the PXC 300 works just like normal headphones with passive noise attenuation. In addition to a handy carrying case, the PXC 300 comes with an adapter for audio systems and in-flight entertainment systems.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Noise Reduction Headphones for Travel   October 25, 2008
Roy Glidden (Seattle, WA)
The best thing about the headphones are thier size and packability. They fold into a small space, fit nicely into the supplied case, and fit easily into my crampt brief case. The sound is excellent (second only to the more costly and bulky Bose), and the noise reduction is great. As with all sit on your ear headphones, they do make you want to take them off after a several hours of use. My wishes for improvements: A coiled cord that would make it easier to keep from tangeling; an adjustable volume on the cord; a cord that you could unplug from the headphone and replace, if needed. I predict it is only a matter of time before the cord gets pinched or damaged in some way and then...goodbye nice headphones. However, after much research, I found these to be the best NR headphones available for the frequent traveler, with limited space in the carry on.

4 out of 5 stars Great Sound but Fragile   October 24, 2008

I purchased two headphones for a long international flight for my wife and me. The headphones performed beautifully and the noise cancelling feature was a god send. However, with the smaller seat space on today's airlines, the cord was often bent over 90 degrees out of the connector. One of the sets'wire apparently broke and only one channel would work. It's within current technology to design a harness that would take repeated bending and stress. One of my headphones is now back for repair.

4 out of 5 stars Good But Not Great   October 24, 2008

Sennheiser PXC 300 Noise Cancelling Headphones
Overall audio quality is good. Very good mid range and highs, average in low range. Headphones can be used without noise cancelling function turned on (a nice feature) but the overall audio quality is noticeably better with the function turned on. When plugged into an iPod, requires high volume setting but this does not seem to cause any problem for either iPod or headphones. Noise cancelling capability is acceptable for the price. Headset and ear cushions are very comfortable for long duration use. Separate battery case is somewhat awkward and inconvenient. Overall, given the price, this product provides good performance and is recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Compact & Great   October 13, 2008
B. Scott (Salt Lake City, UT)
These headphones are perfect for the traveler who wants a very goid noise reduction headset and a compact format. These headphones work great and can fit in the smallest of carry-ons. I highly recommend theme for the price.

2 out of 5 stars Not as good as I expected   October 11, 2008
Maochung Lee (Houston, TXX)
Pro:It does eliminate the fan noise from the desktop computer. That's all it can.
Con:It has its own low freq. noise when the cancel. is not activated.
