Uncomfortable!! December 22, 2008 Voracious Reader (Ohio) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Though the sound quality of these headphones is not bad at all, the comfort factor leaves a lot to be desired. The buttons for adjusting the headphones to your head size do not work. The headband is extremely flimsy and catches on hair. And I ended my first day using these with a massive headache because they were just too tight and could not be adjusted for proper fitting. Koss - back to the drawing board.
It's a "GO" December 22, 2008 J.C. Carpenter (San Fernando Valley, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The metal band has a "U" shaped bend on one end which was digging into my head. I used some pliers and straightened it to look like the other side of the band and the problem was solved. I use the headphones primarily for jogging, but also to do chores around the house. I forget I have them on. I'm hearing sounds come out of my running music that I didn't know existed after hearing these tunes so often. The sound is magnificent! If I were to make a redesign change, I would use an "L" shaped mini-plug vs. the straight plug so I can close the cover on my waist pack. I would also like to see a single cable coming from one earpiece instead of the "Y" configuration. Otherwise, I love this product for its comfort and great sound.
mine were 6 years old when this thread was started December 22, 2008 MICHAEL A. STEWART (big sandy, tn) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
i bought my porta pros in 1993. 6 years before the first amazon review. they have over 1.5 million miles in my 18 wheeler. listening to am/fm, xm and mp3 sources. the right driver finally blew this week. i've bought senheisers, grados, and akgs and they sound better and are twice as rugged as the others. only shortfall is they need an inline volume control. i have a spare pair i'll be using while mine are back for warranty.
Very Good December 21, 2008 Mauricio Vigano (South Brazil) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Incredible sound with incredible bass. The only problem is that you can`t wear it for a long period, because you start to feel it on you head or ears.
Quite comfortable December 19, 2008 Michael V 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
One of the main reasons why I like these headphones is because of how light and comfortable they feel. It's the only pair of headphones I've ever had where I can leave them untouched without my ears becoming irritated. You basically forget they're there. The sound quality isn't as superb as some reviews made it sound to be, but it's definitely better than most. I haven't understood how to work the "comfort zone" switch, and when I try to use it I'm afraid of somehow breaking the headphones. So, that feature didn't necessarily benefit me. I keep it on "light" mode, and it's quite fine. Here are my simple pros & cons: Pros: -Comfortable & light -Portable -Retro look -Lifetime warranty Cons: -Very short cord -Fragile -Headband adjustment does not always stay in place Overall, they're generally a nice pair of headphones, especially if comfort is your main priority.
