As the underside of our floor was inaccessible, the easiest choice was to lay some flat wire under the new carpet pad. This product worked perfectly for that purpose. It is flat enough to lay without leaving any impressions and the conductor is large enough to easily power the speakers. The price was right too, compared with competing products. If you want super flat you may need to buy some of the other options out there but for under carpet or something like that I think this would be fine. Paintable jacket (but I did not paint) seems heavy duty and receptive to paint. Quick connect banana plugs were better quality than I expected but were small in diameter at point of plugging into your receiver. MY USEAGE: Question: Don't know if it is outdoor rated but I used it to run under my eaves to my patio speakers. The white color blended quite well. I used some picture hanger tack nails to drive through the center of the wire and it worked very well without impinging on the wire throught the wire insulation. Just realize that you will need some way to glue the cable to stick to the wall.
