5 out of 5 stars Pay for the cord or pay the Price!   March 26, 2008

I do a lot of transferring of mini dv footage and having the right cord has proved to be very important. A lot of people are unaware that by buying a cheap cord, you are taking a chance at ruining your camera. It wasn't till recently that I had discovered that my fire wire port had gone out twice on my Panasonic. At first I thought it was the camera or maybe the computer. Then I did some research and found out that not all cords have a static guard. So what what happening is a static charge was generating and it sent that through my camera which disabled it's fire wire port function.

So don't go cheap. Buy a well respected name like Belkin, because you don't want to end up spending $200 just to fix a fire wire port!

5 out of 5 stars Quality Cable For The Right Price   March 26, 2008
James F. Pine (Oakland, CA USA)
The camcorder I purchased did not come with one of these, which was surprising as the previous two I've owned did. All the stores in my area were were charging $30+ for one of these. I refused to pay 5% of the cost of the camcorder for a cable which had been included in the past. Amazon came through yet again with a reasonable price and this cable works perfectly with my Canon HV20.

5 out of 5 stars Worth it!   February 26, 2008

I bought this for my Sony DCR-HC48 and my iMac. Wouldn't be without it. Better price than anyplace else I've seen.
