I don't know about all the cheap vs expensive cable, digital error, and corrosion stuff. But I do know that I only paid $20 and it works well. I'm satisfied with what I got for the money.

I can't believe the deal I got on a cable that costs $100+ elsewhere (price based on brand of course). I hooked this up from my PS3 to my 1080p TV and everything looked crystal clear and very stunning.
Unless brands make a difference to you, don't spend extra on name brand cables.

I spent a LOT of money buying a 46 inch Samsung 1080p, 4696D for my wife's special birthday and then spent MUCH time researching and agonizing over the cable. Took the plunge, believing those who stated that "digital is digital" you do not need those very expensive ones. The results are truly stunning and, while I have not done a direct comparison, fully believe that these are as good as any. Well-made, nicely packaged and a great buy from Amazon.

These cables are well made, substantial pieces of equipment. Molded ends with a good weight. The best feature is a partially cut out flap on the back of the blister pack that allows quick and easy access to the contents.

Its a digital cable. Its transfering ones and zeros, not actual video and audio. Not need to waste money the big guy's cables that cost $60-$120. Not on HDMI cables anyways. They may not withstand a Mac truck running over them, and they might not be shielded with gold spun from a cherubs head, but they work great. And if it should fail down the line, just buy another one. Compared to the price of the ones at Best Buy, these are practically free.
