Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications technology lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices. Now you can program each handset to ring - or not - at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to Night Mode so that it won't ring in your bedroom. In the meantime, the handset in the den will still ring when that important call comes in without disturbing the person who's sleeping. You don't have to be holding the phone to see who is calling. Caller ID information is announced between rings. The phone also has a talking alarm clock that will tell you when it?s time for lunch, and a talking battery alert that politely tells you when your battery is low with a "please charge phone" reminder. Block Unwanted Calls Store the Caller ID info of any and all unwanted callers into your phone's. After the information is stored, those unwanted callers will receive a busy signal when they call you again. Put a Handset in Every Room With two handsets and the option of adding up to four additional handsets2 - all while using only one base and one phone jack - go ahead and put one in the den, the kitchen, the master bedroom and the living room so you won't have to make a run for it when the phone rings. Never Miss a Call with the Light-Up Indicator. The Light-Up Indicator with Ringer Alert at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. So turn off the ringer and never miss a call.

5 out of 5 stars Overall good phone   June 30, 2008

I bought the unit with two handsets. In fact, I bought TWO units with two handsets, since this doesn't come in a two line phone. In the brief test I did, they don't seem to interfere with each other. The range is really good, too. When you get too far (like across the street), the voice starts to break up, and you can move back to complete the conversation. Has all the usual pluses that Panasonic phones have, so I will not cover everything in detail. The handset speakerphone, while good, could be a bit louder. But I could say the same about all other cordless phones. The base speakerphone is loud enough. The answering machine has a blinking red light to indicate messages, this should be a number to show how many messages you have. Took me a while to figure out that the redial button is the same one marked PAUSE. Most of the other buttons and functions are pretty straightforward, though. The yellow LED on top of the phone is too bright when trying to sleep at night, I covered it with black electrical tape (black magic marker was not enough). On the second handset, it blinks to let you know you have messages. Last thing, I called Panasonic customer service to see if two of these phones used at the same time would interfere with each other, and the rep was clueless. I should have asked for next level of support, or her supervisor.
