The AT&T TL72208 5.8 GHz Digital Cordless Phone with Dual Handsets and Answering System is a stylish phone system that provides great voice quality, and the convenience of two handsets and a built-in answering machine. By employing Digital Spread Spectrum Frequency Hopping technology on the 5.8 GHz spectrum, the TL72208 offers better sound quality, enhanced range, and increased security compared to phones that operate on a lower bandwidth, such as 2.4 GHz phones. Included are two handsets (along with a base and a charging cradle) allowing you to use both handsets through a single phone jack. This expandable system allows you to add up to four handsets, all of which can share a single phone jack. With two handsets, the TL72208 allows you to transfer phone calls between them, as well hold a three-way conference call. The phone has memory for a 50-entry phonebook, and the handsets feature blue lighted keypads. The TL72208 is caller ID and call waiting capable, with a 50 name/number caller ID history. An indicator tells you when you have a new call and when you have missed one. You don't have to worry about missed calls, as a digital answering machine system is built in. By using microchips for memory, the phone offers instant access to messages, and the ability to selectively save and delete messages. The answering machine features enough memory for 14 minutes of recording time, and a message time/day stamp lets you know when the message was received. The phone system is both table- and wall-mountable.

I purchased this phone because it had an answering machine and a second handset. I am pleased to be able to save most of my most used (and even not so frequently used) phone numbers in the memory. Now I don't have to go hunting for my address book when I need a number. The answering machine works well; I like the various ring tones available and the ability to silence the second handset. A great phone for the price.

Before the product was purchased, we wanted to know how easy it was to use and what the clarity of voice was for the handsets. We were not disappointed! The product is very easy to set up and use. The handset speakers have excellent clarity. The buttons on the handsets light up when you begin to use it. The numbers are large and easy to read. The phone book is very easy to program. The announcement and date/clock functions are a breeze to set up and the announcement is very clear to callers.
