First Impression June 22, 2008 Just purchased these Sony's for use with my Creative Zen Nano Plus (they're my 1st earbuds). I have a pair of Sony MDR CD380's that I like very much, however those aren't practical for reasons of portability. After using the Zen's built in EQ I have the E55's sounding pretty good. I could not run these "flat" as the bass was overwhelming and the highs too shrill. After some EQ'ing the sound is almost there, however for the price they should sound more balanced. Problem with earbuds is most retailers will not (understandably) let you try them out before purchase.

Don't waste your money - there are much better earbuds out there in the same price range. The range on these is terrible, with no bass and *very* shrill treble.
sucks June 10, 2008 volume too low and pretty uncomfortable the bud style headphones from sony are alot better that these they do not block out any noise just a waste of money
Lows too low; highs too high April 30, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I picked these up to tide me over while my Shure's are in for warranty repair. I'm returning them. The bass is so artificially exaggerated that it bleeds all over everything else. And it takes a bass drum whose presence is normally rated, say, a 3 and makes it a very loud and annoying 10. The highs are loud, harsh, shrill, and piercing. Even though I EQ'd all the highs OFF, the "s"'s in the speech podcasts almost shot holes in my eardrums.
Information Request - Not a Review April 22, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
These look like a great replacement for my beat up MDR-EX51LP's. My only question is this:
Are these the same headphones as the MDR-EX51LP's? They look very similar, and I'm just wondering if Sony made any improvements or revisions apart from the obvious aesthetic difference.
Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.
