Product Description This convenient transmitter lets you enjoy your iPod music wirelessly on a compatible Bluetooth sound system. It doesn't use a battery, and draws minimal power from the iPod. Basic functions can be controlled from a compatible Bluetooth headset with AVRCP compatibility. The compact size and simple operation make the TMR-BT8IP transmitter a must-have accessory for true music lovers. It is designed for any iPod with dock connector (30-pin).

Tiny BT Miracle October 13, 2008 N. Mccondichie (South of the Mason-Dixon Line) I received this as a Mother's day gift earlier in 2008. I use with my iPod classic 160G in black. I originally paired it (delighfully easily) with the Motorola S9 stereo headset and loved the sound quality. I have since paired it equally easily with several different stereo heasets. Having paired it with multiple stereo headsets (I break stuff easily, so I got through bluetooth headsets quickly), I note that the sound quality does vary by manufacturer, and even less so by model, so I am thinking that most sound quality issues are related to the headset, not the adapter. Having said that, I do note that there is some latency for music to initially transmit to the headset even when paired. Once the music is on, you can pause, forward, repeat, etc with no problem as long as that is supported by your headset. Other than the latency, I have had no other issues that I can relate to the adapter and not back to my headset or my quirky little iPod. I do wish that I could fine tune volume on the iPod while the Bluetooth is on, as some headsets dont have the most sensitive volume controls, but maybe the next version will allow that! All in all, this has been my coolest, tiniest mother's day present EVER. I travel frequently, leave this thing plugged in my iPod, and it has survived the bottom of my 'mommy purse' as well as drops and at least one spill (oops). Kudos to the maker of this thing.

Beware !! Does Not Work with Ipod Touch 32GB October 9, 2008 Pier P. Sissa After reading so many great reviews, i decided to purchase the Sony Bluetooth Wireless Transmitter for iPod (Black). All I can say so far is that it does not work at all with Ipod Touch 32GB which I currently own; so if you own a previous Ipod you should be fine (based on other reviews) BUT if you own an Ipod Touch 32GB it simply will not work.
Tiny, functional, sounds great with my Sony Bluetooth Receiver October 3, 2008 Someone The Good - Tiny - Draws power from the iPod; does not require its own battery - Music remote control commands (previous track, next track, play, pause, fast forward, rewind) work flawlessly with my Apple iPod classic 160 GB and my Sony DRC-BT15 Bluetooth Receiver - Sound is crystal-clear (requires a receiver that supports A2DP music transmission) The Bad - Cannot be used while the iPod is under external power, for example during charging (no pass-through dock connector) - Does not fit inside any known iPod case (protection from being snapped off would be useful) The Bottom Line I walk a lot, and like to listen to music while walking. I wanted a wireless remote control/headphone solution so that I could leave my iPod in my backpack, carry a small remote control in my hand, and not have my headphones be tethered to my backpack. I considered alternatives from Panasonic, JVC and MacSense, some of which were more expensive (considering the total price of the transmitter and the receiver), and some of which were a little less expensive. Sony's solution had the best specifications. I am very pleased with it.
Mostly Perfect September 23, 2008 Adam M. Robbins (Mpls, MN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This connected with relative ease to my Cardo S-2 wireless headphones. In weeks of use, it's never fallen out of my Touch and transmission has been nearly seamless. (It gave out near a passing light rail, but then came back) My only qualm is that when inserted into the device, it causes my iSkin to rise up around it, rather than stay tight on the Touch. A minor problem indeed. Also, it does eat up the device's charge, so it's necessary to remove it after a while and charge up. But, again, a minor nuisance.
