Headphones November 2, 2008 S. Ng (San Francisco, CA USA) The are nice listening stereo headphones. They play loud with my portable MP3 player. The audio is near audiophile quality. They are small and won't attract attention. The headphones are "not" closed headphones. I can hear ambient noise. I have to turn-up the volume to mask the ambient noise(Subway trains and Bus). They are open air headphones? Overall, I am recommending a BUY. You will be not disappointment. Good quality construction.
Exactly What I Was Looking For August 7, 2008 C. Deng (Chicago, IL) These are amazing. I have been researching headphones for a while, and there are so many choices out there that it took me some time to commit to a pair. But, these are perfection. Not expensive, and the sound is so quality compared to earbuds. I listen to my ipod while commuting to work as well as in the office, so I needed a pair that travels well but also delivers. These headphones insulate noise and have managed to give new life to songs that I was starting to get tired of. One of the best purchases I have made this year. I wish they came with a hard case, but really one can only ask for so much.
Good Sound Quality & Comfortable, but Poorly Made May 15, 2008 A. Austin 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought these headphones after comparing pairs for a month, and when they arrived, I felt INCREDIBLY satisfied with my purchase. The sound quality is undeniably great, though indeed the mids can become a bit compressed. The headphones are light and fit comfortably - I managed to wear these for 3 hours on end without soreness. All in all, the headphones were more than worth the $50. But what has turned me off from the k27i is its poor construction. After less than a month of use, the right cup of the headphones detached. Just cleanly and completely came off. There was no evidence of material fatigue or breakage, and, yes, after a couple of attempts to reattach the cup I succeeded. I also contacted AKG in an attempt to exercise the warranty, since my pair was definitely flawed. I know what you're thinking - shouldn't be anything to worry about, considering the 2-year manufacturing warranty. Well, I sent an email to AKG's U.S. branch of warranty service and they gave me this reply: "Unfortunately this is a non-warranty issue... if you'd like to send them in for a replacement we would be more then happy to replace them at a charge of $43.00 plus shipping." Naturally, my reaction was shock. The cup of the headphones detached without any help and clearly the pair were in some way internally defective, yet I am unable to obtain service. No, according to AKG, I must purchase another pair. The headphones lived up to my expectations but the company did not. I'm very disappointed in AKG's policy and feel cheated. For the short amount of time (keep in mind, this was a mere 3 weeks of daily use) I was able to enjoy my headphones, I rate them a 5. But considering the shoddy workmanship of the product and AKG's failure to stand by its warranty, I give the k27i a 2.
Great purchase. May 8, 2008 Adele Mariadass (Malaysia) I just got these headphones and I love them! Great price for good quality. The look of it is really nice and the fact that it can fold up and fit very smugly in your pocket wins a lot of points. The only bad thing about this is that it isn't very comfortable after a while, ESPECIALLY if you wear glasses. Having big ears doesn't help, either. But if you're glasses-less as well as big ears-less, then you should really go for these headphones!
Very good sound, foldable so they can be very compact, LOVE THEM April 24, 2008 C. Geddis (Mass.) I searched and search for a good set of headphones. I am done with the earbuds that just end up making your ear hurt, didn't want something as large as an over the ear head phone and didn't want it with any silly symbols or crazy colors, (I am over 40) I wanted to use these for daily walks with my dog, but at the time i bought them i was preparing for a trip and knew i would need them on the plane. THey are not noise canceling, but i think they did ok at blocking out some of the airplane noise. I looked at sennheiser, bose, etc. All the "top" brands but settled on this one. And glad i did. First, i think they are very comfortable, they sit on the ear, they do a good job of blocking out external noise and a fairly good job of not letting your music sound out too much for others to hear.(depending on your volume level) I think the sound you get is very true, good bass, clear sound. I heard things and sounds and words in songs i have listened to forever, that i had never heard before. I think that pretty incredible, especially for 45.00. I love the fact that they fold up and you can drop them in your backpack, breifcase, purse or pocket. THey even come with their own soft little leather pouch. When i walk my dog, i put these on with my Sansa, crank it up and i can't hear a thing! Not even myself breathing or walking. SOunds GREAT!!! IF you want to get a great set of headphones without spending a ton of $$$ these are it. I would buy them again if i ever needed another pair.
