The Terk HDTVs is optimized for HDTV and analog UHF/VHF reception. Its great at receiving reflected signals, which is important in cities. Even if the HDTVs is pointed at a building, the antenna will receive a reflected signal and reject all other multi-path signals. Tried 3 other antennas first -- this one gets flawless reception. The broadcast antennas are over 20 miles away.
Very Good Product November 25, 2008

I recently canceled my Comcast service to save money and instead bought the Terk HD-TVS as a replacement with the Samsung HD Tuner. The Terk is in my attic hanging from the crawl space rafters facing the attic window in roughly the degree towards the antennas. It took a few minutes of adjusting but i now get great HD signals from CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX and My9. PBS signal is weak for now, but i do get channel 31-2 which is QUBO all day kids, so that makes up for lost PBS Kids and all Noggin channels from Cable.
The Terk was a cinch to set up, came with everything i need to attach it and gets nice reception. According to the website the main signals are about 13 miles from my house in NJ at about 83 degrees. So i face the Antenna facing 83 degrees and it works.
Overall i am very satisfied with the purchase and recommend it

I live in Kensington, MD which is within the Washington, DC metro area. I had the antenna installed inconspicuously on the roof. We are no longer using cable TV or satellite TV signals. We are using this antenna as our only TV signal source. We are also using an antenna signal amplifier, the TERK 15 dB Broadband Cable Amplifier. We get amazing digital signals from various local channels including FOX, CBS, ABC, several PBS channels, TFA, CW, and UNI. The picture quality from these digital channels is awesome, and it's all free!
Of course, we do not get all of the sports channels, Discovery channel, History channel, and HGTV for my wife, but we supplement our TV watching with DVDs from Blockbuster.com (Netflix is another fine option).
Considering the ever increasing cost of Cable or Satellite TV along with the cost of equipment rental, this antenna along with the signal amplifier is a fine option to consider.

We actually put this antenna in our attic and it works great. We haven't had any problems with it. The picture is very clear.

We are 30+ miles from most of the TV stations in the Atlanta area and we are in the process of changing from Analog to Digital reception for all TV's in our house. We had two old standard external (inexpensive) antenna's installed in our attic that we had not used for a few years. We purchased the Terk HD-TVS antenna specifically to move to DTV reception. Our neighborhood has a covenant restriction against external antennas but because the HD TVS looks like a dish, we thought that it would be the perfect solution. We received the product and connected it outside before mounting it permanently and the reception was awful. Only the closest stations worked at all. The signal strength was very very low. We connected both of our old antennas just to see what would happen and to our surprise, both of the standard external (inexpensive) antennas mounted in our attic receives all of the local DTV broadcasts. The reception strength is very high on the closest channels and low for the channels at the greatest distance but all of the channels work. The Terk HD-TVS was much worse than the standard external (inexpensive) antenna so we returned it.
