Product Description
Panasonic's DVD-R is the easy giga-archive solution for high-volume write-once storage. The DVD-R write-once disk has superior durability, long-term preservability and high-reliability through advanced dye application technology. It's also compatible with "DVD-R for General" specifications, which means it supports DVD-ROM drives, so a wide range of users can enjoy the "Giga Archive" disk.

5 out of 5 stars Best Compatibility for Panasonic DVD Camcorders   December 20, 2007

There are many manufacturers that offer mini-DVD discs for camcorders. However, not all are created equal. First of all, most Panasonic products prefer or require DVD-R format discs instead of DVD+R like most Sony products use. I have tried Memorex, Maxell, TDK, Fuji, JVC, Sony and Ritek discs in the past. The Maxell, TDK and Sony discs worked flawlessly, but I had problems with several of the Memorex, Fuji and Ritek DVD-R discs. Most of the JVC discs worked OK but a few of them would not finalize properly. Recently I started using the Panasonic DVD-R discs exclusively and have had flawless results. I guess it only makes sense that Panasonic would make discs that are perfectly compatible with their DVD camcorders. I'm not saying that you should only buy the Panasonic discs for a Panasonic camcorder, but beware of the cheaper brands. You're better off spending an extra dollor or two and getting the better quality that will net you successful recordings of your precious memories. So far every single Panasonic DVD-R disc has working perfectly and so I will continue to purchase this brand for my Panasonic camcorder.
