Thousands Used; Excellence Consistent. October 3, 2008 Lori Penn (Ohio) I've tried all kinds: TDK, Verbatim, Sony, Memorex, Philips, many generics, & some other name brands I've probably forgotten, & they have all had an unacceptably high error rate for me with the exception of Maxell. I haven't just used these for a couple of weeks either. I have used thousands over a period of several years. For me, one pack of 100 averages one bad disk consistently while some other brands have gone as high as a 10-15% error rate. When I've had 3 or more bad disks in 100, it has ALWAYS been my recorder. I don't buy any other brand now. Keep up the good work, Maxell!
Bad Shipping September 26, 2008 James C. Dupre (Worcester, MA) Maxell makes a great product. The 100 packs are a great value. What I'm unhappy with is the shipping. When I received my product, the box was crushed and the container holding the disc's was smashed. There was little packing material to protect the product and the box was not strong enough to support the product. This needs to be addressed for future purchases!
Damaged in shipping (ANTOnline ) September 24, 2008 E. Chang (NYC) I've ordered 100-count spindles several times before (from other sellers) but this was the first time they came damaged. In fact, crushed. I complained to the seller (ANTOnline) and they said that Amazon does not allow replacements to be sent out, only returns. That's odd, I'm pretty sure I've gotten replacements from Amazon before. In fact, Amazon leaves it at the discretion of the seller. Also no apology was offered. I didn't feel like spending $10 shipping to my home, and then another $10 shipping it back just to have wasted my time, so I just salvaged what I could and tossed out the obviously damaged discs (about 12 so far). The discs themselves are fine, I've used Maxells for awhile and there are about %8 coasters, but that's about average for any brand.
Maxell DVD+R pk (9634056) August 21, 2008 Mark Twain "Bob" (Las Vegas USA) A spindle of 100 was ordered and sent to me,not packed very good at all,so of course they were all over the box and spindle was busted up,broken and some got scratches,so never again for me.
Sloppy handling makes for a poor buying experience June 10, 2008 bertrarious (Naperville, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have to say, the discs are great. Never a problem and quick to copy. That being said, it appears that no matter which brand of balnk DVD or CD I purchase from Amazon, they are ALWAYS poorly packed resulting in destroyed "hatbox containers" and sometimes discs even loose in the box. I have written to customer service, but if this continues (as it has for about the last year) I'm going to give up a few bucks savings here and turn to local retailers. I'm sure some of the blame can be laid at UPS's doorstep, but if theye were packed right, I don't believe the problem would be so overarching.
