Great for Archives September 10, 2007 R. Crane (Fort Collins, Colorado) I bought this one year ago and have transferred all my home camcorder video tapes to these DVDs (both Hi8 and miniDV). They all worked great--10 for 10.
GOOD ! THEY DON'T SCRATCH July 28, 2007 J. Koontz 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I ONLY GAVE IT 4 STARS CAUSE I HEARD A RUMER THAT DVD+R(positive R's) ARE BETTER QUALITY THAN DVD-R(negative R's)
Absolutely the best DVD media available January 10, 2007 David J. Ceremuga (Taylors, SC United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased a case (50 boxes) of these and have not had one bad burn. You need to read this review, because it IS important. I had burned many movies on Memorex and other over the counter inexpensive media only to find that after about a year, the DVD had degraded and was unplayable! I also found that most DVD media scratch VERY easily. I was fed up. I performed an extensive investigation on archival quality DVD media and was floored at the differences between manufacturers and quality. This Verbatim media has never failed. My children toss it around like it is a toy and it will play. The VideoGard WORKS. After a few of our movies on this media fell out of our car, rolled down our driveway and hit the road, I was convinced they would fail. NOPE. I popped it into my DVD-R drive and it was able to do a sector by sector checksum check and the movies still play perfectly in our home and car DVD players. The previous reviewer is clueless about DVD media and probably doesn't realise that his drive required a Firmware update for compatibility with more different types of media. I had that Sony drive and it has issues. I currently use Plextor drives on my computer and have Panasonic DVD-R recorders on our TV's. Simply put, I will stock up on this media for whatever purpose I need. There isn't a better media on the market. Hospitals, Government and archival companies prefer Verbatim for it's archive life.
Place for your drink September 25, 2006 Scott Saccenti (Colora, MD USA) 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Two out of ten were coasters. I had burned 200+ Fuji disks in a row (using Sony DRX-810UL) without a single dud. My Fujis ran out and I tried these. What was I thinking?
