Very good results June 2, 2008 Alexandrite 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If you need duplexing at all, then order the ML-3051ND which seems identical to the ML-3051N except it includes automatic duplexing [printing of both sides of a sheet] and may cost $20 more. The ND version does a fine job with duplex print. I use the Multipurpose Tray a lot, with envelopes and half-letter [30lb. & 20lb 5.5" x 8.5"], and never have had a jamb. I use the network connection for a wireless notebook, Ethernet connection for desktop, and USB connection when I don't want the internet connected. All work fine if the Samsung printer-drivers are loaded in each computer. The noise is slightly less than my old IBM 4039 laster printer which lasted 15 years. The IBM printer could handle letter-size 110lb. cardstock through its manual, straight-through feed. Samsung says anything over 20lb. paper will void their warranty, yet transparencies are clearly heavier than 20lb. thickness and envelopes are too. That is why I think 30lb. half-page paper should be acceptable through the Multi-Purpose Tray just like envelopes. I think Samsung needs to make it possible to use Letter-size cardstock, but I suspect that their competitors $200 to $300 laser printers may have the same limitation.
Works fine, great little printer February 19, 2008 N. Chung 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love the auto duplexer on this printer. It works fine, produces decent quality prints, and does the job. My complaints are that the registration is a little off on double-sided prints (it varies between 1/16" and 1/4") and it is somewhat loud while printing. I have used the printer with a variety of paper stocks and have been really pleased. Every now and then the manual feed has a tough time picking up cardstock. But the occasional paper jam is easy to clear up.
The Samsung warranty is worthless October 11, 2007 Mike Thomas 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
My ML3051ND came with a defective cartridge, producing white drop-outs across all pages. After four months, a dozen calls, and several faxes, Samsung support operators have been unable to transfer my problem to a decision-making level, let alone fix the machine. Their operators have admitted to being overwhelmed. I finally bought a new cartridge, which cured the problem. But even now, Samsung can't find anyone who can authorize a reimbursement. God forbid your Samsung product should have a flaw that can't be corrected by a trip to Staples.Samsung ML3051ND Compact Laser Printer

This printer requires that you press a button for every page printed when using the multifunction tray. Otherwise if you do not press the button you will have to wait nearly 60sec before printer auto-feeds.
