I had this product about 3 weeks. After the initial charging, I plugged the bluetooth in using the charger supplied. The unit started to smell like burning plastic, then began to smoke. I must admit that the store (Buynow) was very helpful in returning this unit and refunding my money, but the product itself was a disappointment.

We've been using the VisorTalk Bluetooth Hands-Free Car Kit for about three months and love it. It's always where we need it and works well even under high traffic noise. To turn the unit on, you lift the LCD screen and it presents a two-tone signal and then syncs with your blue-tooth enabled phone with a reverse two-tone signal, so it's easy to tell when it's on and when it's synced. It has one feature in particular that is wonderful. You get one programmable call button that allows you to set up one (and only one) phone number to dial with a simple push of the button. This could be an emergency number but we have it programmed for a family member. Advantages include simplicity of use, good speakers, good voice quality. Disadvantages include poor button placement, only one quick-call button, and relatively large size (about 6"L x 3"W x 1"D), and a charge cord that's too short and tightly spiraled to let me plug it in while on the visor, which means we have to take it off and put in on the passenger's seat or on the floor while charging. The unit keeps the numbers of the most recent five calls that were received and it's easy to cycle through them and redial any one of them. I would prefer to have the five most recent calls that we made from the unit. If they were really serious about usability, they would provide both and a button push to cycle between the two groups. Also, they list calls from phones with unlisted numbers. What's the point? If you don't know what number it is, you not likely to be calling it. So, please, programmers...do some filtering! The instruction booklet describes how to download phone lists from your cell phone but we have not been able to make it work (it's written in English-as-a-5th-language format). PLEASE spend a few bucks and hire someone who speaks English as a native language to edit the manual!!! Improvements that they REALLY need to make to keep this item competitive: 1. Move the call and end buttons to the top of the unit's front face. They are currently located just below the liftable LCD screen and are obscured as soon as we lift the screen and turn on the unit. 2. Create at least two more quick-call programmable buttons. Most of our calls while driving go to four family or work numbers and we need to be able to call those numbers with a single button push. 3. Package the unit with a longer, more flexible charge cord so it can be left on the visor (and usable) while charging. Summary: Good sound, fairly easy to use, needs improvement or they'll lose whatever market share they currently have.

Impressive product. Design does not address the issue of how to locate the unit when the visor has to be used on a sunny day. Extremely awkward at best and impossible to use effectively at worst.

I recently purchased the VT-MK20 Bluetooth VisorTalk. I am more then a satisfied customer. I have been recommending it to my road-warrior buddies. It has EXCELLENT voice tone for the recipient and speaker volume (clear) on your end. I have a Palm Treo 700P phone, that required the free Palm OS upgrade to make it connect...but that was the only drawback. One item that you will be impressed with is the magnetic mounting clip. Simply clip the unit onto your visor then...when you want to remove it for a re-charge, the clip stays in place (and with the aid of two strong magnets)...the VisorTalk separates from the clip. The battery seems to last for ever as well. I definitely rate this as #1. (I have owned 5 different hands-free models...two were Bluetooth.)
