2 out of 5 stars Beware of BlueProton shipping and restocking fees!!!!!   July 31, 2007

I bought thirty of these obsolete cards, seeing the price at nine cents and believing that they were a "bargain". I've done some Ebaying and am alert to the ludicrous shipping charges of some sellers there, but was off guard here. I didn't scroll down the page of my final order page to see that I was being charged over $179 shipping to buy under $3 worth of cards, and likewise, the total was at the end of a very long confirmation email. I would have sworn that I was being charged $5.99 for the order, which was close to the actual shipping cost, not per item. A few weeks later, I noticed the $182 charge on my credit card, broke into a cold sweat, and immediately asked for an RMA (two days before their deadline) which they reluctantly sent. They immediately discounted the order by $30 in hopes that I would not return the cards. Amazon followed by another $20, after I complained directly to Amazon. I could only return 27 because I had opened or given away three of them. I was finally given a last refund of slightly over $40, meaning that I had to pay shipping both ways (about $6 to receive, about $10 to return) and a 20% restocking fee for the unopened cards. In total, for three 256mb secure digital cards, I spent over $70. I guess I can consider this a "speeding ticket" at BlueProton's speed trap on the information highway!
