Product Description The IR-100 is the heart of the Infrared Control system. Able to drive up to 15 IR-250 repeaters and 4 IR-EL flashers, any number of IR100s can be paralleled if more flashers or repeaters are required. Powered is provided by either a 9V, 500mA adapter or 12VDC, 1.2A for large, complex IR systems (both sold separately). A visible confirmation LED that flashes when a signal is present, and the unit measures only: 3-1/8" x 1-3/4".

Buffalo IR-100 IR Receiver October 5, 2008 Dr. J. Timothy Walsh (Jacksonville, FL USA) I used the IR-100 receiver as part of a system (also including the IR-350 sensor) to construct a remote control receiver system to pass remote control IR signals to my Comcast/Motorola HD cable receiver and an Impact Acoustics component video switch, both hidden behind a cabinet door. The system works flawlessly to pass signals to the hidden components. I researched this problem extensively on the internet (including amazon.com) and concluded that the IR-100/IR-350 offered the best balance of reasonable cost and quality construction/performance. The IR-350 was mounted in a Radio Shack 4" x 2" x 1" plastic project box, and the result is visually very acceptable (it sits adjacent to my Bose Lifestyle 38 console). Echoing other favorable reviews of this product, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Perfect solution for IR extension February 1, 2008 M. Shelton (United States) I have a home theater I've been building for a number of years and when I painted the walls and ceiling dark colors my IR universal remote could no longer bounce the signal off the front wall and screen to hit the equipment in a rack behind me. I did quite a bit of research and for the money found the Buffalo Electronics IR solution was what I needed. This is the heart of the system. It's a piece of cake to install. Simply buy a sensor like the Buffalo IR-350 Cabinet Mount IR Repeater and then you run Cat5e cable from the sensor to the receiver, plug in up to four emitters (they come in 1 flasher, 2 flasher and 3 flasher models for a total of up to 12 devices per control block) and you're done. This system was piece of cake to install. A friend and I got all the wires run and emitters attached in an hour. I can't believe I waited as long as I did to do this. If you're planning a theater or want to put your components in a closet and need an IR extension solution this is what you want. You can use really long runs (other side of the house) without fear of losing the signal (other solutions have short cable lengths that don't make them very useful). I even split up one of the emitter cables to use for my IR light switches on the side of the room and it worked fine spliced with Cat3 cable (phone line). Great product.
