Better then the namebrand October 12, 2008 A. Kamm (Michigan) I purchased one of these batteries this past summer. I wasn't sure if this could give me a longer battery life then the one that came with my Canon ZR800. But I was wrong. The no-name brand battery lasted a lot longer. I'm really thinking about buying another five just in case I don't have acess to a wall outlet.
great buy August 31, 2008 Brenda K. Brecht (Tennessee) I bought this battery so I would always have a charged one. This is a real good battery and the price is great.
You Get What You Pay For - Spend the Extra $$$ August 29, 2008 Terry Carter (Clearwater, FL) I decided to buy 3 of these with a charger from one of the vendors here on amazon that sell TechFuel products . . . with shipping it was $40 - i relied partially on the other review touting how great these batteries are. Well, i beg to differ. I bought these as backups for my canon zr930. One of the three batteries worked 2 times before going kapoot and is now completely dead no matter how long I charge it. The other two last maybe 5 to 10 minutes tops before going dead. This is regardless of how long they've been sitting since being charged (usually a few hours to a day). The Canon starter battery that comes with the camcorder is rated at 540 mAh and lasts about an hour or so of use. These techfuel batteries are rated 1200 mAh... where's the juice TechFuel? My advice, pay the extra money to get a name brand battery - at least then when you need to swap batteries on location, your backup actually is ready to go and you'll get the shot. Products like this are a slap in the face to the environment and your wallet - total complete garbage.
Generic IS BETTER December 11, 2007 Adam J. Russo (Haddam, CT) 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
Ever wonder how names like Can___ JV__ and Son__ make their money? By having you buy their outstandingly expensive accessories. For instance my ZR800 Camera. Cannon supplies a battery (with the camcorder) good for about an hour at 530mAh for around $60 retail. This Opteka battery is double the capacity (1200mAh) with... you guessed it.. double the battery life for about a tenth of the cost. Simply pick up a consumer reports sometime and you'll see that most times name brand ISN'T better.
