not really worth it! August 25, 2008 This product comes witha carrying case for your nintendo ds, a pen that holds a stylus,an attachable game holder (2 games), 2 extra styluses, another game holder that holds 15 games, a strap that can connect to your case to hold it around your neck, a screen protector, earbuds, a car charger, 2 memory chips, screen protector, and a piece of foamy plastic. the carrying cases zipper will break if you over stuff it, but if it does break it will go back together if you push the zipper back and forth a couple times. Ive used this product for about 6 months now and its great if you just bought a nintendo ds and need things to take care of it or your just traveling!! hope this was helpful to you!!!!!
Travel Kit August 8, 2008 I bought this for my young son. He got a kick out of all the different items included, so it was like getting a second present. And everything is working fine so far. We've had this item for about a month.
Everything you need for travel and a great price! August 4, 2008 I purchased this kit for my son to pack up his DS stuff and take on vacation. The case holds the DS and game cases well. It's got all the accessories you need for on the go at a really good price.
WAY too small to fit everything August 1, 2008 If you're looking for a case that will fit the DS plus all the accessories, LOOK ELSEWHERE! I purchased this case because the zipper on my old case busted, but I went back to my old broken case because I actually liked it better! Even with one zipper broken, it still fits more stuff than this piece of junk (and it's almost the same size). The only things that will fit in this case are the DS, earphones, stylus pens (but NOT the pen extender), and maybe three game cartridges. I guess it's OK for kids, but if you want a carry-all case that would also fit the charger, cartridge holder, etc., this is not the one.
Your kid will need to carry his DS about? This is well designed July 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A month ago I purchased a Nintendo DS Lite, this Travel Kit, and 3 Gameboy games for my 7-year old son's birthday.
The (black) nylon 'bag' zips open along it's narrow endge for about 3/4 the way around -- it's kind of like a mini-mini-suitcase. It has a good carry strap.
The inside folds out rather like a book. There is a pocket for the DS itself on one side, and a pocket for 'extra games' on the other side (DS fits on either side). There is also a 'mesh pocket' on the middle-right side; the 'lace' is made of grey nylon. Unfortunately I found things in this pocket kept spontaneously falling out... so it's use was soon abandoned.
I think a clasping pocket, with a clear side so one could see inside without opening it, would be a big improvement over the existing 'mesh pocket'.
Another minor missing item is a means to identify the owner from the bag's exterior. My daycare provider ended up sticking some ugly 1"-wide tape upon the outside of the bag to write my son's name upon it. That worked fine for them tracking *whose* DS it was at a glance... but the tape is 'tacky'- tacky looking now, and eventually physically tacky. So Mr. Manufacturer, how about a see-through (address/name)label area sewed to the bag's exterior; like one sees on luggage? And please include a blank address card, or perhaps two.
The kit comes with a (white-coloured) 'extra-games box'. And 3 foam inserts for it. You use the 'blank-tray insert' if you have one of the old-format Nintendo gameboy fobs (they are bigger). Otherwise, you use the 2 foam pieces (installed; they look like they have room for only 6, but actually they fit 9 of the new Nintendo gameboy fobs).
In one foam insert there is room for an extra stylus. This is handy as kids usually have several extra, as they are easy to loose. But I was mildly disappointed that *every* foam insert did not have such an insert available; they all should.
The Travel Kit also comes with a key fob which will fit one extra game (the new small size). It has an re-sizable band so it fits most kids wrists easily. This key fob is girlish is design; it is obviously intended for girls who want to 'go lite' -- a house key and extra game worn on the wrist, and a naked DS computer in hand.
Earphones (earbuds) are also included so the kid can play the DS in a place where no video-game noise is allowed. They fit into the 'mesh pocket'; but again they tend to fall out spontaneously. My son doesn't carry these around ... the places he haunts either 'allow' video games full-bore, or they 'don't allow' period. (The DS has it's own audio controls, including mute. Mine did not come with any kind of headphones.)
An auto-charger is included. It now has permanent home in the family van. We haven't used it yet, but my son was 'delighted' when he realized his DS would never have dead batteries when the family had traveled long distances.
Well that's about it. Well worth the money I spent on it. Only a few minor flaws. Get one if you will ever be letting your DS Lite out of the house.
