I was unsure about using a non-OEM battery in my Nikon D-40 only because I had just bought the camera and was treating it like it was a freaking baby, but I've used non-OEM things in many other devices and, just as expected, there is no difference. The battery life is excellent and the price is great.
If you need to take the camera in for repair or warranty, make sure to put your original Nikon battery back in. You are not "supposed" to use 3rd party batteries and they might try to claim it voids your warranty.
