Received a bad batch! Zero Stars! December 26, 2008 Johnny V (Jersey Shore, New Jersey United States) I've tried to burn about five discs and all failed. I have a very reliable burner: LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A1L I've notice the recording surface, the shiny surface, has many, many "rainbowing" distorted areas that follow the diameter of the disc from the center to the outer area. For sure this is a defect, as the surface should be mirror like, with no distortion. Very disappointed...was avoiding Memorex brand as Verbatim was supposedly a much better brand. I just threw in the trash $30.00!

I do not have a coaster yet with these verbatims. All burns have been perfect, no errors. Highly recommend these!
Linux Review - NO COASTERS! (Burn at 4X) February 27, 2008 guu 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
These are the first dual-layer dvd's that I have found that will burn reliably at 4X using Growisofs. Be sure to use the -speed=4 option and you shouldn't have any problems. This assumes, however, that you have a burner that is capable of burning dual-layers... As of Feb 27 2008, The Lite-On DH-20A4H-08 is an excellent choice. UPDATE: As of May 1, 2008 these discs are 10%-20% coasters. I notice that there seems to be physical damage in the zone nearest to the edge of some of the discs, and this will normally be the sensitive "layer transition" zone. This is probably a per-batch issue, but it really SUCKS!! UPDATE Again - August 4, 2008 - Purchased a new batch, and they are flawless. No coasters, no visible defects.

Well, I went from Memorex Dl (aprox 20% coasters) to Verbatim. Its worth the extra money, no coasters with Verbatim!
Very good December 1, 2007 C. Hendrick (Worcester, MA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Can't agree with the previous reviewer. I've used these ever since I got my NEC DL burner and never had a coaster (100+ burns). Perhaps it's the quality of the optical drive in use...
